  • Latest rumour Leaks Miles Morales’ Antagonist in Across the Spider-Verse Part 1

The second movie in Marvel’s Spider-Verse franchise, i.e, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part-1) is set to release on 7th October 2022. After the first look was released about 3 months ago, there were many theories about all sorts of possibilities that we can see in the upcoming movie but the release and success of Spider-Man: No Way Home drifted the focus of fans. After months of waiting, there is finally a big rumour that has recently hit the internet about the animated movie and fans are very excited.

According to the latest rumour, Miles Morales who is voiced by Shameik Moore will take on Morbius and Venom during the first or the second act of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part-1).

In the first movie, we saw the origin story of Miles Morales and how he stopped the Kingpin from potentially destroying the whole universe with his Collider by teaming up with several versions of Spider-Mans from alternate universes.

The second movie will feature the same concept as we saw Spider Gwen a.k.a Gwen Stacy calling out for Miles Morales in the first look of the movie. It is thus sure that the same Multiversal concept will be explored in this movie as well and Miles Morales, who is now a much more experienced Spider-Man will finally take a deep dive into the Multiverse.

Marvel could not possibly keep Kingpin as the main antagonist in this movie as well and thus they have reportedly brought in Morbius and Venom who are two arch enemies of Spider-Man in Marvel comics.

However, there is a big chance that none of the two is the main villains of the movie and they will only appear in one or two scenes. The main antagonist of the movie is expected to be an evil version of Spider-Man itself and it will be something very interesting and unique as we have never witnesses Spider-Man facing Spider-Man in MCU before.

  • Across the Spider-Verse producers tease Holland, Garfield and Maguire cameos

Marvel’s animated movie “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” which featured Miles Morales and a bunch of other versions of Spider-Mans was officially their first project to show the concept of Multiverse, long before Marvel’s “What…If?”, “Loki” and obviously, “Spider-Man: No Way Home”. The sequel of the much successful 2018 animated movie is expected to release on 7th October 2022 and its producers have given away a huge teaser recently which you must know.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are the producers and co-writers of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. In a recent interview, on being asked about the possible appearances of the three MCU Spider-Man actors – Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, both of them refused to confirm the theories but they also did not rule out its possibility.

Can the three live action versions of Spider-Man appear in Across the Spider-Verse?

Miller went on to tease that “all things are possible in the Multiverse” while Phil Lord joked “RIP my mentions” as he is sure that Millions of Marvel fans will now start tagging them because of this teaser.

What the Producers of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse have said

“The Multiverse is big and wide. And all things grow… Why would you think a Multiverse, in which many things are possible, that [those things are] not related?” Miller said suggesting a possible expansion in the Spider-Verse. However, Phil Lord pointed out that an MCU/Spider-Verse crossover is off the tables at all points but apart from that anything is pretty much possible.

The makers of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse aim at bringing in much more Spider-Man variants in the sequel as compared to Into the Spider-Verse, and also the live-action No Way Home which had the three very popular on-screen Spider-Man versions.

Famous actor Oscar Isaac, who also plays the role of Moon Knight in the MCU, will voice the character of Spider-Man 2009 or Miguel O’Hara, who was teased in the post-credit scene of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

It must be noted that MCU’s Spider-Man of the current timeline, i.e, Tom Holland, had once shown interest to appear in one of the Spider-Verse movies at some point in time but he will need the permission of Sony to do so.

As Doctor Strange said in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the “Multiverse is a concept about which we know frighteningly little.” The Spider-Verse is a place where we can explore the vast possibilities of the Multiverse without any repercussions and so…why not?
