  • Moon Knight director gives a positive update about Season 2

Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight is set to release tomorrow and the hype about the series is unreal. The Reviews after the first screening of Moon Knight were totally positive and some even called Moon Knight the best Marvel TV series ever. Although Moon Knight was initially planned to be a limited series which means it would have just one season, the success and great reviews of Moon Knight have compelled Marvel to think about a possible reboot. Moon Knight producer Grant Curtis recently opened up on the possibility of a season 2.

In a recent interview with Collider, Grant Curtis said that it is difficult to say right now whether a second season would be made but this much is sure that this is not the end of Moon Knight in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is a very dynamic character with many shades – something that MCU fans have never seen before and thus, according to Curtis, he could fit in ‘any corner’ of the MCU.

“What I will say is this: because we delve into so many interesting tones in the tapestry we eventually weave together with this show, the action-adventure globetrotting, the bump in the night horror aspects of it, the mental health character study, the humor, I do think wherever [Marvel President] Kevin [Feige] wants this character to go in the future, I don’t think there’s any corner in the MCU that that Moon Knight cannot inhabit naturally. And that is a testament not only to the character on the page but the character that Oscar Isaac brings to the screen,” he said.

However, Grant Curtis also affirmed that if Marvel really decided to reboot the series in any way possible, he wants his full cast back as according to him, he has got an ‘amazing cast’ for the Moon Knight project.

“I would take this amazing cast with me. And if it can’t be this cast in the future: People, and artists-men, and crafts-women, who are at the top of their game, just like Oscar [Isaac], Ethan [Hawke] and May [Calamawy] are. That makes my job so much easier when these actors,” Grant Curtis said.

As we already know, Oscar Isaac is a brilliant actor and he has added life to the character of Moon Knight. Grant Curtis went on to praise him and the other two lead actors of Moon Knight – Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy.

“I gotta say this too, I don’t look at Oscar and May or Ethan as actors. I look at them as storytellers and the paintbrush they paint with is acting. The dedication they brought to this was just invigorating and it helped after being on this show for well over a year and a half. By the time they came aboard, I needed that B12 shot and they brought it, so that’s what I would really take with me: I would take this cast. And if it can’t be this particular cast, one that brings the same dedication to it and obviously that dedication on the director’s end as well. It just makes my life so much easier,” he concluded.

  • New Moon Knight clip gives away a big detail about Arthur Harrow’s Powers

Marvel has been releasing small bits of some interesting scenes from their upcoming Disney+ MCU series Moon Knight. It is a different strategy that the Studio has followed this time around and it is working as the fans are getting more and more eager about the movie. In the most recent video clip that Marvel has released, we are shown a rather important scene where Arthur Harrow (played by Ethan Hawke) shows his powers for the first time.

Who is Moon Knight’s Arthur Harrow

From what we can understand from the videos so far, Arthur Harrow is going to be the main antagonist in Moon Knight. He has been shown to be a cult leader who is well versed in ancient Egyptian scriptures and the latest clip suggests that he can use his powers and knowledge of old scriptures to summon Egyptian gods and demons. This makes his powers slightly similar to that of Moon Knight as he draws his powers directly from the Egyptian God of death, Khonsu. It might be so that Arthur Harrow needs wants to acquire this power.

The scene from the recently released clip seems to be set inside a pyramid. We can see Arthur Harrow, some of his followers of people, Layla and Marc Spector a.k.a Moon Knight in the scene.

The scene and Arthur Harrow’s Powers

Layla asks Marc to suit up to save them from Harrow and their Thugs and gives her something that resembles a golden egg. It must have some major significance as otherwise, she would not have prioritised the safety of the egg over herself.

The two thus try to escape the place and Arthur Harrow and his men clearly don’t like it and they try to stop it. It is then that Arthur Harrow reads out an ancient Egyptian spell and taps his crane on the floor. The floor barges open and the hand of a mysterious devilish creature is shown. Although we do not know what it was exactly for sure, it was definitely something to be scared about.

It appears to be a climax scene as otherwise, Arthur Harrow would not have revealed his true powers. To know everything about the series, we will have to see Moon Knight on 30th March as soon as it gets released on Disney+ Hotstar.

  • Moon Knight Early Reviews: Critics call it the Best Marvel TV series ever!

Marvel Studios have already kicked off 2022 with a bang with the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home. They are not looking to keep up the success with their Disney+ MCU series as well and their upcoming project Moon Knight which is set to release on the OTT platform on 30th March is expected to live up to the expectations.

Marvel’s previous Disney+ shows, namely WandaVision, Loki, Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Hawkeye have all been showered with the love of fans. However, Moon Knight is set to be the first MCU origin story that will be released Disney+ the difference being that all the previous MCU series starred popular MCU characters that already had a huge fanbase.

Marvel’s Moon Knight is based on the namesake Vigilante anti-hero of the Marvel Universe who suffers from Dissociative personality disorder. Marc Spector a.k.a Moon Knight is one of the most complex characters in all of Marvel and can be described as their Batman-esque superhero.

The first four episodes of the series have already been shown to critics and several film reporters and the early reviews of Moon Knight are extremely positive. As expected, director Mohamed Dieb has been able to carve Moon Knight into a perfect blend of horror, psychological thriller and action movie.

In this article, we take a look at the early reviews of Moon Knight given by Top movie critics of the industry.

    Moon Knight Early Reviews

What’s on Disney Plus – “I’ve watched the first 4 episodes of Marvel Moon Knight & it’s unlike anything we’ve seen in the MCU – Oscar Issac is Fantastic! I can’t wait to watch the rest of the series. This isn’t your typical superhero origin. It’s Excellent! It arrives on Disney Plus on March 30th”

David Opie (DigitalSpy) – “I’ve watched the first 4 Moon Knight eps and I’m as divided by this show as Marc himself. When it works, it’s a wildly original MCU entry with flashes of greatness, but some of the sillier aspects detract from the horror. Diehard comic fans might not enjoy it as much as newcomers.”

University Film Review – “Moon Knight is fantastic & Oscar Isaac is exceptional as the tormented Marc Spector. This is the Marvel show everyone is going to be talking about. Completely bonkers that leads with a haunting adventure. Marvel Studios has knocked it out of the park with it’s best show yet.”

Tom Percival (The Digital Fix) – “Had a lot of fun with  Moon Knight it started weird and only seems to be getting weirder. A good blend of horror, action, and humour… plus he has a great cape.”

Ashanti Omkar (BBC) – “Embargo lifted. I have seen Moon Knight & he is dazzling.Oscar Isaac is a revelation. Put it on your  Disney Plus watch list for 30th March 2022. Relish the music of Hesham Nazih & see Maycala Mawy bringing her effortless flair to the screen.”

Sab Astley (Collider) – “#MoonKnight is a brilliantly bonkers dark globe-trotting adventure; this is Marvel’s trippy National Treasure. Oscar Isaac is the best addition to the MCU since RDJ, entwining torment and humour into a morally ambiguous cypher – Marc Spector is a whole new calibre of hero.”

Tom Power (Tech Radar) – Full thoughts to come in my #MoonKnight review (when? very soon 👀) but I will say this: It’s unlike anything you’ve seen from Marvel before. I’d go as far as to say – and I don’t say this lightly – it’s the best MCU TV show ever”

Thomas Storai (FutureOTForce) – I’ve watched the first 4 episodes of #MoonKnight, it’s unlike anything we’ve seen before from the MCU. It’s a psychological thriller with a touch of Indiana Jones, it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. And Oscar Isaac delivers a mesmerizing performance.”

  • Oscar Isaac teases a Cameo of Avengers Superstar in Moon Knight

Although one of the Producers of Moon Knight said a few days ago that Moon Knight will have no connection with the MCU whatsoever, recent leaks and rumours suggest that he might have been lying the whole time as a major Marvel character is supposedly set to make an unprecedented cameo in the series.

Moon Knight will be Marvel’s first psychologically complex superhero as Marc Spector literally suffers from Multiple Personality disorder and it will thus be the Studio’s first DC-esque movie.

However, while the fans are excited to see something new, it also means that it is untouched ground for Marvel Studios and they might as well mess things up if they try to bring in more and more of their star characters.

Moon Knight will thus solely be a solo series which will serve as the origin project of the character but also serve as something solid enough to make fans fall in love with the new character.

The trailer of the series so far has suggested that it will be very much it. A cinematic masterpiece from Marvel which will have many shades welcoming the fans to take a deep dive into Marc Spector’s complex persona.

Oscar Isaac teases a big possibility for Moon Knight

However, actor Oscar Isaac who is playing the role of Moon Knight in the series, has now himself teased a big possibility for the movie. Something he said in a recent interview suggested that we might see the Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk in the TV series.

“I mean he’s a bit of a loner, so that the thing. I don’t know maybe… Who would he get along with in the MCU out of everyone? Maybe Hulk! Yea, I could see it happen.”

Oscar Isaac thinks that Bruce Banner and Marc Spector have a common loner mentality in them and that this might be the link that connects the two characters.

Will Hulk appear in Moon Knight?

Despite Oscar Isaac’s words, in reality, it is highly unlikely that Hulk will appear in the upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight. The two characters are poles apart with Hulk having this International hype about him while Moon Knight is a masked vigilante.

However, Bruce Banner’s appearance in the post-credit scene is something that might very well happen. We last saw him in the post-credit scene of Shang Chi and he might appear in the post-credit scene of Moon Knight as well, possibly teasing the upcoming She-Hulk series.

  • Moon Knight will not be set in the Current MCU! Producer makes Shocking Revelation

Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight is set to release in about 2 weeks’ time on 30th March and the hype about it on the internet is insane. It is the first time that fans will see such a psychologically complex character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and they are fully pumped up to witness the origin story of Marvel’s infamous Masked Vigilante. However, the executive Producer has now made a big revelation about the upcoming series and it might break a few hearts.

Grant Curtis says Moon Knight has ‘No Attachment to the Current MCU’

In a recent Disney Press Release, Moon Knight’s executive producer Grant Curtis dropped a bombshell. While talking about the character and the upcoming series, Curtis hinted that Moon Knight will have no connection whatsoever to the current MCU as we know it and that it will be a solo series.

“There’s no attachment to the current MCU. He’s brand-new, and he is going on a brand-new adventure. We really think the fans are going to enjoy it,” Curtis Grant said.

    – Grant Spector

Talking about the complex character of Marc Spector a.k.a Moon Knight, the executive producer said that they want to show the character’s growth from the beginning to the end gradually just like they did for Tony Stark’s Iron Man. Thus, Marvel wants to make a new hero from ground zero.

“There are multiple aspects of Moon Knight that get us internally jazzed at Marvel Studios. But one of the unique aspects of this character is it’s taking Marvel Studios to its Iron Man and Tony Stark roots. That was a character that was obviously built from the ground up, and it is the same with Marc Spector,” he said.

    – Grant Spector

Is Moon Knight set in the MCU?

Although many might think that Curtis Grant is suggesting that Moon Knight is not set in the MCU, I personally think that he means something else. The executive producer wants to say that the series will not have any reference to the events that have been going on the rest of the MCU, like the blip or the death of Tiamut – Earth’s celestial.

Going forward, Moon Knight will be one of Marvel’s important characters in Phase 4 and there is no reason why they would keep such a powerful character separated from the MCU. A number of upcoming MCU characters like the Black Knight and Blade are rumoured to team up together with Moon Knight and thus there is still no doubt in the fact that Moon Knight is set in the MCU.

  • Moon Knight: All Powers and Abilities ranked

Moon Knight is a fictional character in the Marvel Universe that was written by Doug Moench and was first introduced in the comic series Werewolf by Night in the 1970s. Although he is widely remarked as Marvel’s version of Batman, there is a whole lot more about the character and the MCU will explore all of that in their upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight which is set to release on the streaming platform on the 30th March.

Marvel has recently shown interest in bringing out some of their darker characters in the MCU like Blade, Black Knight and Moon Knight. Moon Knight will definitely lead the front of their darker characters and will be an important character in the MCU going forward.

However, before watching the MCU version of the character, it is important to know exactly how much powerful Moon Knight is in Marvel Comics. MCU will probably not show his full potential in the upcoming series and we need to take a deep dive in Marvel comics to know that.

In this article, we will rank the best Powers and Abilities of Moon Knight and try to analyse exactly where he fits into Marvel’s power ranking.

    12. Draws Powers from Moon

Moon Knight draws his powers from the Moon

In Many versions of Moon Knight comics, it has been said that the character draws his powers from the Moon during his connections with the Moon God Khonshu and thus he is the strongest on a Full Moon night.

In some later comics, it was shown that he has lost this ability but given the MCU can use this power in the TV show. It is being rumoured that Moon Knight’s prime enemy in the first season would be a werewolf and it would be an interesting battle as both the characters drew their powers from the moon.

Although their powers weren’t the same, they drew their powers from the same source and it would be an exciting parallel to watch.

    11. Prophetic Vision

In simple words, Prophetic Vision is the power to see the future. However many consider it to be God’s way of showing you something. Anyways, Marc Spector has been shown to possess this power.

However, this power has often severely affected his life. During the Age of Khonshu storyline, Khonshu himself was plagued by visions about the end of the world due to Mephisto. Because Marc Spector is connected to Khonshu directly, he too saw those visions.

    10. Insane Pain Tolerance

While most Superheroes must have some sort of Pain tolerance, Moon Knight just takes it to the next level.

In a 2006 Marvel comic, Taskmaster was sent to eliminate Moon Knight. He initially seemed to have an upper hand on Moon Knight but later the vigilante got his revenge and even scared Taskmaster.

Taskmaster is well known for copying the fighting styles of others but Moon Knight’s fighting style is to allow himself to be hit. He makes no effort to block hits and it completely dismantled Taskmaster.

    9. Great Combat skills

Even when not using the alter ego of Moon Knight, Marc Spector himself is great at hand to hand combat. He was a former Heavyweight champion in boxing and is also proficient in all kinds of Martial arts like Karate, Kungu Fu, Muay Thai, Judo and Krav Maga.

He is also a trained commando, CIA agent and Mercenary.

    8. Life Force Draining

For a short period in the Comics, Moon Knight had the ability to drain people’s life force just by touching them. This happened when he was battling the ancient Villainous group Hellbent. Although it is not one of his common abilities and he probably can not even use it consciously, it is indeed a very strong power.

    7. Detective Skills

    Moon Knight’s detective version

Marc Spector in Marvel comics, being a vigilante, is also a great detective. As we know by now, he has many alter egos ranging from a Billionaire to a Cab driver and thus his contacts and resources are huge. He uses it to his advantage while investigating something.

    6. Accuracy in Aiming

Having had CIA and mercenary training, one would of course expect Marc Spector to have a great aim. But the level of pinpoint accuracy he has is unbelievable.

Moon Knight once split a bullet in half with his crescent dart while being hit on the side with a bullet.

    5. Immortality

Khonshu is supposedly immortal as he assumes his powers from a God. He was in fact brought back to life by Khonshu on three occasions.

    4. Moon Knight’s Suit

Moon Knight wears a white suit to strike fear into his enemy’s hearts. Unlike Batman and Daredevil, he wants to be noticed and tackle them head-on.

He upgraded his suit to Adamantium and then to Carbonadium which he argued was almost as strong as Adamantium and much more flexible. The suit also has a glider cloak which allows him to glide around and slow down his descent.

    3. Weaponry

Marc Spector is proficient in almost every weapon and firearm. However, his iconic weapons are his Crescent darts. They are similar to Batarangs but can be used handheld as well. He also uses a very special baton very often.

    2. Power Absorption

It is said that Moon Knight can absorb mystical powers. He has previously absorbed the Powers of Iron Fist, Sorcerer Supreme and even Ghost Rider. He was able to absorb the Phoenix force due to this power solely.

    1. Phoenix Force

Moon Knight after wielding the Phoenix Force

Marc Spector once became the host for the all-powerful Phoenix Force. In that particular storyline, Moon God Khonshu took over Manhattan and made the Avengers fugitive. Moon Knight realised that Khonshu was turning paranoid and needed to be stopped. So he prayed to the Phoenix Force and became its host. He was able to overpower Khonshu with it and defeated him.

He then allowed Thor to knock him out so he could be free of the Phoenix Force.

  • Moon Knight Confirmed and Rumoured Cast, all details

The first episode of MCU’s latest Disney+ series Moon Knight is set to release on 30th March. The MCU TV series will act as the origin story of Marvel’s namesake mercenary Vigilante Moon Knight who sufferers from an identity crisis. In this article, we shall talk about the confirmed and rumoured cast and the crew of Marvel’s upcoming TV series.

    Moon Knight Cast

    Confirmed Star Cast

    1. Oscar Isaac – Marc Spector/ Steven Grant/ Moon Knight

It is not unknown that Oscar Isaac is a phenomenal actor and if there is someone who can play the complex character of Marc Spector to perfection, it is him.

Oscar Isaac has had the privilege of playing two big Marvel characters now. He played Apocalypse in Fox Studios’ 2016 movie X-Men: Apocalypse and he will now be playing the role of Moon Knight in MCU.

As we all know, Moon Knight’s alter ego Marc Spector suffers from dissociative identity disorder and thus Oscar Isaac is expected to play many shades of his character in this series. Eagerly waiting for him to nail the role as usual!

    2. Ethan Hawke – Arthur Harrow

    Ethan Hawke – Arthur Harrow

Ethan Hawke who is famous for his works in Training Day, The purge and Moby Dick, will play the role of Arthur Harrow in the Series.

Arthur Harrow is a cult leader and a friend of Steven Grant – an alter ego of Marc Spector who works in a Museum.

According to Marvel comics, Arthur Harrow was a Nobel prize-nominated scientist. He was suffering from trigeminal neuralgia and his illegal experiments on humans led to a huge battle between him and Moon Knight.

In the Moon Knight teaser and trailer, the creepy guy with the cane who supposedly has a big following is Arthur Harrow.

    3. Gaspard Ulliel – Anton Mogart

French actor Gaspard Ulliel, who featured in Hannibal Rising and Saint Laurent will be playing the role of Anton Mogart in the movie.

The actor died in a tragic skiing incident on January 19, 2022, and his role in the movie will be posthumous.

According to Marvel comics, he is also known as Midnight Man. He is a thief and a collector.

    4. F. Murray Abraham – Moon God Khonshu

    F. Murray Abraham will be playing the important role of Moon God Khonshu in Moon Knight.

He is an Egyptian god who gave powers to Marc Spector and blessed (or cursed) him transforming him into Moon Knight.

So far, we have only seen a glimpse of Khonshu in one scene in the TV Spot trailer where he stood as a giant figure behind Marc Spector.

Khonshu will be a totally CGI built character and he will only be voiced by Abraham.

    5. May Calamawy – Layla

May Calamawy will be playing the role of Layla who is a friend of Marc Spector.

    6. Lucy Thackeray – Donna

Lucy Thackeray plays the Museum curator who says “Real catch you are. You are useless Stevie,” to Mark’s alter ego Steven Grant who works in the Museum. Her name is Donna.

    Rumoured Star Cast

    1. Mahershala Ali – Blade

According to rumours, Marvel character Blade played by Mahershala Ali can have a cameo in Moon Knight. Marvel has already announced that a Disney+ series on the character is set to release in 2022. In Moon Knight, we can have a first look at Blade.

    2. Kit Harington – Black Knight

In Eternals, we saw a glimpse of Dane Whiteman, Marvel’s Black Knight. The post-credit scene of the movie showed Kit Harington as Dane Whiteman about to tough an ancestral ebony blade before a voice from behind warns him.

The voice belongs to none other than Mahershala Ali who will play Blade in MCU. Black Knight and Blade have operated together in Marvel comics on many occassions. Many are of the opinion that both these characters will appear in Marvel’s Moon Knight.

Moon Knight, Blade and Black Knight can operate together as a trio of sorts in the future in MCU as all three of them have a similar role of a vigilante.
