  • Patrick Stewart thinks Professor X should NOT Trust Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to mark the MCU debut of a number of famous Marvel comic characters. While most of them are mostly rumoured and nothing has been confirmed yet, we know for a fact that Professor X, the leader of Marvel’s famous Mutant group X-Men will make an appearance in the Multiverse of Madness.

In the trailer of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, we heard the voice of Patrick Stewart (who played the role of Professor X in FOX Studios’ X-Men series) in the scene where a handcuffed Doctor Strange was brought into what seemed like a trail room. He said ‘We Should tell him the truth” and although we could not see his face, the fans did not need a second guess to be sure about the fact that it was indeed Patrick Stewart.

The actor himself has more or less admitted the fact that he is in the movie and it is confirmed. However, while talking about the movie and his character he made a very interesting point. He said that he personally does not think that Professor X should trust Doctor Strange irrespective of how good his intentions seem to be.

He is not wrong, to be honest. Professor X might be an omega level telepath but even his powers are not enough to contain Doctor Strange. Professor X is usually used to being the smartest person in the room. However, Doctor Strange is after all one of the strongest beings in all of the Marvel Universe and the Professor would not want to mess with him or let him free.

Moreover, Professor X has been shown as the head of the Illuminati in the movie – a group that served at maintaining the decorum of the Multiverse. Professor X thus has more knowledge than Doctor Strange about the Multiverse and he might have dealt with some other variant of Doctor Strange at some point. He is thus very well aware of Strange’s powers.

Firstly, Doctor Strange is already responsible for causing mayhem in the Multiverse. Moreover, the Illuminati have probably also seen some evil variants of Strange in the past (like Evil Strange who will appear in the Multiverse of Madness) and thus Professor X, if given a chance, would want to keep Doctor Strange locked up exactly like what we saw was done to America Chavez in the TV Spot trailer.

  • Patrick Stewart finally opens up on Multiverse of Madness – Reveals big news about Professor X

Ever since the trailer of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was released, the fans are going crazy regarding every minute detail and easter egg shown in the movie in search of answers regarding what we could possibly see in Marvel’s upcoming Magnus Opus. The trailer teased many big possibilities but the biggest of them was undoubtedly the MCU debut of Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier a.k.a Professor.

Although the face of Patrick Stewart was not revealed in the trailer, a voice was heard in the Illuminati headquarters scene. He said to the handcuffed Doctor Strange: “We should tell him the truth”. And fans did not need a second guess to understand that it was indeed the voice of Patrick Stewart.

The character of Professor X has been played by two actors mainly – Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy in Fox Studios’ X-Men movies depending on the timeline. However, Patrick Stewart’s Professor X has been the more attached to the X-Men Universe. He is in fact one of the most loved X-Men actors probably after Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

Patrick Stewart denies appearing in Multiverse of Madness

Although the fans are totally sure that the voice heard in the trailer was that of Patrick Stewart, the actor himself denied any ties with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

He said that ever since he started acting, many people have been imitating his voice and it could be a similar case.

“You know, people have been imitating my voice ever since I came on the stage 60 years ago,” he said. “So, I can’t be held responsible for that.”

In another interview, he said, “we’ll have to wait and see, won’t we?”

“I don’t look at a lot of social media, and that is mostly a time issue,” said Stewart.  “But I must say, before bedtime on Sunday evening, I’d had plenty of communications from friends and some people I hardly knew at all, making reference to, ‘Ah, is that you? Is that you? Well, of course, you know, I was just at home, waiting to watch football. So, how could it possibly have been me? So, we’ll have to wait and see, won’t we?”

Logan (2017) was the last movie of the X-Men franchise. Both Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman were featured in that movie. Stewart revealed that after that movie, both of them had decided never to re-appear as those characters in any Superhero role.
