But things got worse when his disgruntled superior Tyler Stone sabotaged the test by exposing Miguel to a narcotic called Rapture. The mix of drugs and genetic treatments led to a series of significant changes in Miguel’s genetic makeup that made him different in a fundamental way.
The result was that Miguel was able to develop incredible spider-like abilities. He gained strength, agility, and reflexes, and was able to cling to walls and walk through them like a spider. In addition, his senses were heightened so that he had better intuition and could react quickly to threats.
Recognizing the shady nature of Alchemax and the dystopian environment that surrounded him, Miguel took up the mantle of Spider-Man to fight injustice and restore hope to the masses.
