Sony denies making of The Amazing Spider-Man 3

Ever since the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home back in December 2021, one of the most trending hashtags in the Superhero genre has been #MakeTASM3 which is the fans’ plea to Sony Studios to bring back Andrew Garfield as the Spider-Man of that universe.

Andrew Garfield was cast as Sony’s Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man trilogy and he featured in the first two movies before the last movie of the trilogy was called off due to the unpleasant box-office numbers for The Amazing Spider-Man 3. The sole reason for Amazing Spider-Man’s failure was the dead scripts of both the movies of the franchises and Andrew Garfield himself was not at all a reason for its failure. And the British actor has proved it in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Spider-Man: No Way Home featured all three versions of Spider-Mans namely Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland. However, the actor who stole the hearts of all fans was Andrew Garfield. His excellent performance in the little screen time that he got in the movie was excellent and fans understood how badly he deserved a third solo Spider-Man movie.

Sony’s tweet on The Amazing Spider-Man 3

Thus the campaign #MakeTASM3 started and it gained worldwide support from all Marvel fans. It was in fact the top trending hashtag for almost a week after the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home and Sony Studios has finally responded to the viral hashtag of the Amazing Spider-Man 3

Marvel recently released individual posters and trailers of every version of Spider-Man and Andrew Garfield’s video called him ‘The Amazing Peter #3’. This reminded fans of the trending hashtag and for a short while, it trended again on Twitter. This time, Sony had to respond.

Sony’s official Twitter handle posted the video of ‘The Amazing Peter #3’ and they wrote they gave a note in the caption which read “Yes, we’ve seen the hashtag. No, we don’t decide which movies get made. We’re just the social team 🙂”.

It was definitely a joke but fans loved it and are happy at the fact that Sony atleast made some comments about the viral hashtag.

Although in a recent interview actor Andrew Garfield has said that he does not plan to ever return as the Spider-Man, we know his record of lies and it is probably better not to trust him. Only time will tell if we get a The Amazing Spider-Man 3 in the future.
