  • Avatar: The Way of Water Original Cast – Here’s how they look in real life!

Avatar: The Way of Water: After a long wait of over 13 years the sequel of James Cameron’s magnum opus ‘Avatar’ has finally hit the theaters in 2022. The original movie, which was released in 2009, was groundbreaking in every aspect. The world had not seen anything like Avatar till then and it was a sensational achievement in the field of motion pictures. The sequel, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ defies odds in a similar fashion and no wonder it has breaking records – both financially and award-wise.

For almost the entirety of the 3-hours runtime of the movie, there are no human actors on the screen. Apart from 4-5 exceptions, all the actors appear in their Na’vi forms in the movie. Thus, the viewers are obviously curious about how the Na’vi characters look in their real lives. And that is exactly what we are going to reveal in today’s article.

So here are the top 13 most important cast members of ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ and how they look in real lives.

    1. Zoe Saldana as Ney’tiri

Just like in Avatar, Zoe Saldana plays the role of Omaticayan soldier Ney’tiri in the sequel. She is the wife of Jake Sully and together, they will fight the war of survival of their race against the humans. Since Avatar (2009), Zoe Saldana has also been pretty famous for role in the Marvel Universe as Gamora (a former member of the Guardians of the Galaxy).

    2. Sam Worthington as Jake Sully

As you would remember, Jake Sully had had transplanted his consciousness into his Na’vi avatar permanently at the end of the last movie and he is now the leader of the Omaticayan tribe of Pandora. Apart from Avatar, Sam Worthington is also famous for his roles in Terminator Salvation and Clash of the Titans.

    3. Stephen Lang as Colonel Miles Quaritch

At the end of Avatar (2009), the main antagonist Colonel Miles Quaritch had died. However, he is back in this movie – not as a human anymore but in his Na’vi form. To know how he came back from death (quite literally), you will have to watch the movie. Stephen Lang is also famous for his roles in Conan the Barbarian, Old Man and The Girl on the Train.

    4. Sigourney Weaver as Kiri

In Avatar (2009), we saw Sigourney Weaver as a scientist in her human form. She has been recast in the sequel, however, as a new character named Kiri who is a teenage kid and the adopted daughter of Ney’tiri. Sigourney Weaver is also famous for her roles in the Aliens series and Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

    5. Kate Winslet as Ronal

Titanic’s Rose fame Kate Winslet has been added to the Avatar franchise. She has been cast as Ronal – a free diver of the water tribe and the pregnant wife of tribe leader Tonowari.

    6. Cliff Curtis as Tonowari

Cliff Curtis plays the role of Tonowari who is the leader of the Metkayina tribe or the water tribe of Pandora. He is basically the Jake Sully of his people. Cliff Curtis is a New Zealand based actor who has previously worked in movies like Collateral Damage, the Meg and Risen.

    7. Jamie Flatters as Neteyam

The gorgeous Jamie Flatters has been cast as Jake Sully and Ney’tiri’s oldest son Neteyam in ‘Avatar: The Way of Waters’. We have seen him before in the Netflix series The school for good and evil and Close to Me.

    8. Britain Dalton as Lo’ak

Britain Dalton has been cast as the hot headed and short tempered second son of Ney’tiri and Jake Sully. He often falls into trouble for not following his father’s commands. We have previously seen this actor in Dark Harvest and Grill Dog.

    9. Trinity Jo-Li Bliss as Tuk

Tuk is the youngest daughter of Ney’tiri and Jake Sully. We have previously seen her in Best Foot Forward and The Garcias.

    10. Bailey Bass as Tsireya

Tsireya is the young daughter of Ronal and a love interest for Jake Sully’s second son Lo’ak. She is an important character in the movie. We have seen Bailey Bass previously in Interview with the vampire and A Gift of Murder.

    11. Filip Geljo as Aonung

Filip Geljo plays the role of Aonung who is the son of Ronal and Tonowari. He is also a free diver. Filip Gejlo has previously worked in The Odd Squad.

    12. Duane Evans Jr. as Rotxo

Rotxo is the best friend of Aonung and he is a young male hunter. Duane Evans Jr. has previously worked in Ebony Society and I’m going to Mum’s.

    13. CCH Pounder as Mo’at

Mo’at was seen in Avatar (2009) as a spiritual leader and Ney’tiri’s mother. She returns in this movie for a very short role as a counselor for Jake Sully and his family while they take refuge with the water tribe. We have seen CCH Pounder previously in The Orphan, Robocop 3 and End of Days.

  • Jacob Batalon reacts to the rumours of him playing Hobgoblin in Spider-Man 4

Peter’s best friend Ned is arguably one of the most loveable characters in MCU’s Spider-Man franchises. He has been with Peter through thick and thin and is perhaps the best Spider-Man sidekick ever seen in a live-action Spider-Man movie and is also undoubtedly the best friend any of the three Peters has ever had (we all know what the other two did to Andrew and Tobey’s Spider-Man respectively. However, one of the most hilarious scenes in Spider-Man: No Way Home led fans to think that the sweet character of Ned can be transformed into a heel character by Marvel in the next Tom Holland trilogy.

In the lab scene from Spider-Man: No Way Home where all three Peters were coming up with an antidote for all the villains, Ned asks Andrew and Tobey whether they had a best friend and they narrate the tragic experiences that they have had with their friends and after that Ned is shocked and he promises Tom Holland never to turn against him.

However, at the end of the movie, we know that no one remembers Peter Parker and everyone has forgotten the true identity of Spider-Man including Ned. We thus can’t assure now that there isn’t the slightest possibility that Ned will turn against Spider-Man in future. Seeing the alleged sorcerer background’ of Ned, fans are now confused totally and they think that Ned will be perfect for the role of Hobgoblin.

    What did Jacob Batalon say

After so many days of anticipating the future of Nedd’s character, actor Jacob Batalon who plays the role of Ned in the MCU has finally opened up about his thoughts on the rumour.

“From all my years of working for Marvel, I feel like I’ve learned to just not say anything. I can’t really speak on things and then say something that might actually be true and then I ruin something, you know what I mean?” he said.

    – Jacob Batalon

Jacob Batalon has been working with Marvel for quite some time now and he thus knows their methods pretty well. He has thus thought it to be a better option to not open regarding interviews and it is probably the correct decision.

He added, “It taught me a lot about fame and taught me a lot about experiencing the world and what it really means to be someone who people look up to, in a sense. I’ve learned that the most successful people in the world are not fucking assholes and, most importantly, it’s just sort of how I carry myself. I mean, fame is cool, fame is great, but it’s very fickle. More power to you if that’s all you want, but a lot of people, including myself – I feel like I’m searching for longevity.”

    – Jacob Batalon

“I think it was just the scariness of ruining such a great surprise. We all understood it was such a momentous thing to happen in like, not just a superhero movie, but in cinema. To actually do something that crazy is wild. We just wanted to make sure that we kept it as [quiet] as possible so everyone could genuinely be so surprised and love it,” Ned concluded.

    – Jacob Batalon

  • Latest Marvel rumour reveals many Thor variants will appear in Thor: Love and Thunder

Thor: Love and Thunder: Perhaps the biggest question that Marvel fans from all over the world have right now is when will the trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder be released. Thor 4 is the most anticipated MCU project of the year after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and it is set to release on 8th July 2022. However, less than four months are left in its original release date and the Marvel Studios are yet to release the trailer of the movie this has heightened the excitement about the movie.

While some sources have revealed that the movie is undergoing some major reshoots, especially in the scenes involving Christian Bale who plays the role of Gorr the God Butcher in this movie, some also suggest that the real reason might be much more serious and that Marvel might be facing some problems regarding Thor: Love and Thunder. Meanwhile, we have come across a very feisty rumour about the movie which will keep the hype about Thor 4 up and rolling.

Thor: Love and Thunder to Show Multiple Thor Variants

According to this latest rumor, Thor: Love and Thunder will include Thors from various time periods. It also said that they’ll each have a distinct tone and help conquer Gorr the God Butcher. Well, for the unversed, this has originally taken place in Marvel Comics and if MCU indeed goes down that path, Thor: Love and Thunder might very well become a comic-book accurate movie. However, the involvement of Mighty Thor a.k.a Jane Foster hinders that notion as Gorr never actively faced the Mighty Thor.

Gorr the God Butcher has appeared in mainly two comic book series in the Thor franchise and that was in Thor: God of Thunder and King Thor. In one of the comic book series, Gorr the God Butcher made all the Norse Gods his slaves and he forced them to create one of the strongest weapons in the Universe for him which was called the God Bomb. It would wipe out all the Gods from existence in the blink of an eye and thus Thor variants from three different timelines – Young Thor, Thor (the one we know) and Old Thor came together to face Gorr.

Unfortunately, the God Butcher still managed to defeat them all and he could finally be stopped only after his own son turned against him. This is one of the classic Thor tales and it would be brilliant if the makers of Thor 4 was used in their storyline for the movie. However very little is known about the movie so far and we can not say anything for sure unless the trailer is released.

  • Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Official Runtime Revealed – It’s much shorter than we expected!

After much anticipation, Marvel has officially revealed the runtime of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and fans would be disheartened to know that it is much shorter than what was being originally expected. The official runtime has also been updated on the the movie’s IMDB page and fans are now worried about the movie as they are doubtful whether all the important scenes can be crammed within such a short runtime.

Marvel revealed that the official runtime of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be 2 hours and 6 minutes which is not bad but nothing given to the importance that the movie holds in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it also significantly shorter than the other Big Scale MCU movies that Marvel has recently released.

To provide some perspective, let us compare this runtime with some other recently released Marvel movies. Spider-Man: No Way Home was 2 hours 28 minutes, Eternals was 2 hours 36 minutes, Shang Chi was 2 hours 12 minutes. In fact, only 2 of the last ten movies released by Marvel had a runtime less than that of Multiverse of Madness and they were Captain Marvel (2 hours 3 minutes) and Ant-Man & the Wasp (1 hour 58 minutes) both of which were nothing compared to the significance of this movie. It is thus a very shocking announcement by Marvel. Fyi, the first Doctor Strange movie which was released back in 2016 had a runtime of 1 hour 55 minutes.

It was earlier being said that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will have a runtime of 2 hours 28 minutes which would make it the joint third longest runtime in any Marvel movie alongside Spider-Man: No Way Home. Given the fact that Multiverse of Madness is expected to showcase a lot of events – first appearance of America Chavez, a number of Dr Strange variants, a number of Wanda variants, clash between Scarlet Witch and Dr Strange, Cthon and a couple other astounding events, a long runtime was expected. However, it will now be interesting to see how Sam Raimi fits in all these events into such a small runtime and some fans are already worried that this might ruin the impact of the movie.

  • Latest rumour suggests Morbius will be Tom Holland’s villain in upcoming Spider-Man trilogy

The Mid-credit and Post Credit scenes of Sony’s Morbius left fans confused regarding the setting of the movie and the possible future of Sony’s Spider verse. The Post-credit scene and Morbius’ director Daniel Espinosa have both confirmed that Spider-Man does exist in the same universe as that of Morbius but we do not know for sure as to which of the three actors (Tobey, Andrew and Tom) will be playing the role in Sony Studios. Meanwhile, a latest rumour has confused the fans regarding the future of Spider-Man even further.

According to a latest rumour, Morbius will return in the new Spider-Man trilogy of Tom Holland and this has totally complicated the future of Tom Holland’s web-slinging superhero. The mid-credit scene of Morbius revealed that Tom Holland and Morbius are surely in two different universes and thus fans can not figure out how a the two can feature in the same movie.

    https://twitter.com/MarvelOfRogers/status/1510521636772102144?s=20&t=wZ-farQsY6277lmOOr31aw

Even Marvel and Sony agree upon collabing to bring the two characters together (which has zero to no chances) the makers will find it absolutely nerve-wracking to explain how these two end up in the same universes because ‘because Dr Strange messed up the spell’ is just not going to work every time.

Tom Holland in Spider-Man: No Way Home

However, some fans have pointed out that Tom Holland is still a Sony Studios actor technically as the rights to Spider-Man are owned by Sony and thus it might be possible that Tom Holland’s new trilogy is set in the Sony Universe and not in the MCU! Yes, as crazy as it sounds this might be completely possible if Sony fixates on making it happen and although fans will definitely not like this idea, Sony has always been pretty stubborn when it comes to Marvel movies and they rarely listen to what the fans want.

Think of it this way, no one has absolutely any memory about Peter Parker in the MCU whatsoever and it will thus even if he changes universes, not many will notice the difference. With Miles Morales lining up to make his MCU debut soon, people in MCU might not even notice that Spider-Man is gone. And thus, Tom Holland’s Peter can start afresh in the new Universe. However, how he will change universes is still a big doubt and Sony will have to come up with a really good explanation.

  • Morbius Full Movie Breakdown: Hidden Details and Easter Eggs (SPOILER ALERT)

Morbius has finally been released worldwide and despite being widely criticized by Marvel fans from across the globe, we must pay attention to even the most minute details of the movie as it is going to be an important neutral ground for the future of Sony’s Marvel-verse. The success of Spider-Man: No Way Home has encouraged Sony Studios to bring back the web-slinging Superhero in their universe and although we do not which actor will be playing the role of Sony’s Spider-Man in future, we now know that they are trying to tease a possible Sinister 6 lineup in the future.

In this article, we shall thus be breaking down the full movie in detail and we shall also talk about hidden details and easter eggs (if any).

The research of Dr Michael Morbius

Dr Michael Morbius is a Nobel prize winning biochemist who suffers from a rare blood condition. Although the name of his blood condition has not been revealed throughout the movie, we can get an idea of its whereabouts from the research scene. Michael Morbius believes that anticoagulants in vampire bat saliva can cure his disease and thus he spices up human DNA with that of a bat. We also know that his blood needs to be transfused three times a day.

    The Daily Bugle

The famous Daily Bugle newspaper was seen throughout the movie for at least 3-4 shots. According to many, this is a clear indication that Peter Parker a.k.a Spider-Man who works for the Daily Bugle in the Marvel comics, is present in the same Universe as that of Morbius and we could see a possible faceoff in the future.

    The Deleted Scenes

There were rumors that many of the money shots which were shown in the trailer, like the one in which Morbius walks past a Spider-Man graffiti and one in which they show an Oscorp building skyscraper. Well, these rumors turned out to be true and it has probably been done to keep the runtime as less as possible.

    ‘That Thing’ in San Francisco

Milo killed a number of Police officers in the Subway and upon finding the dead bodies, Agent Rodriguez (played by Al Madrigal) said that he hadn’t seen something as good since ‘that thing’ in San Fransisco. This clearly alludes to Venom. Morbius also scares off a guy by saying ‘I Am Venom’ later on in the movie which further suggests that two of them are placed in the same universe.

    The Powers of Morbius

Morbius has gained Superhuman strength, agility and masculinity after being injected by the serum. His other powers include flying and echolocation. Director Espinosa has seemingly given the majority of his focus on the protagonist’s echolocation power.

Perhaps the best depiction of Echolocation

We have seen only Daredevil and Stick use Echolocation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but in Morbius, we saw a person with full vision using Echolocation for the first time ever. It is hard to depict the power on-screen but we’ve got to say that the director has done a great job here. He has used different coloured CGI effects to portray the Morbius’ echolocation.

The real reason why Milo turns against Morbius

After Milo injects himself with the serum against Morbius’ will, he turns rogue and has absolutely no remorse about killing people for fun. When he tries to persuade Morbius into ‘facing his true self’, the two have a big fight and Morbius somehow flees from there by saving his own life. Morbius wants to make an antidote to revert both of them back to their original conditions but Milo loves the power he has and thus tries to kill Morbius.

    Why does Milo kill Nicholas

It was evident that Milo had become completely corrupted with all the power that the Serum gave him and thus Milo killed Nicholas after a heated argument with him. However, this might also be included in the Loopholes as Milo had no particular reason to kill the guy who took care of him for so long.

Why did Milo not kill Martine beforehand

Milo had seen Martine alone in Morbius’ lab way before he actually killed her. He had asked her whether she knew about Morbius’ location which she denied to give. She was able to fool Lucian’s lie detector trick (which he did by using echolocation just like Daredevil). Yet, Milo could have killed her just there and be done with his mission and this is yet probably another loophole.

Why do the bats help Morbius and not Milo

In the last scene of the big encounter between Morbius and Milo, Morbius summons a huge army of bats and controls them to defeat his friend. However this might raise some eyebrows as both Morbius and Milo originate from the same serum and it is thus not sure why the bats helped only Morbius and not Milo.

Martine Bancroft is now a Living Vampire too

One of the saddest scenes of the movie saw Morbius’ girlfriend Martine Bancroft dying after an attack by Milo. Michael kisses her and he they they lose some blood while biting each other. As a result, they taste each other’s blood and Martine says ‘Make it count’ before dying. Michael then goes on to drink Martine’s blood before proceeding to indulge in a fight with Milo.

However, in the last scene, we saw that Martine Bancroft was not actually dead and she has instead turned into a Living vampire herself after consuming the blood of Michael which has the serum.

Why does Morbius not take the poison himself

Morbius initially prepares two vials of poison – one for Lucian and one for himself. However, after killing Lucian and finding out the true potential of his powers, he apparently has a change of mind and he has now decided not to go through the complexity and thus accept himself for what i did.

    Adrian Toomes switched Universes

Undoubtedly the most controversial scene from the movie was the one where Dr Strange’s broken spell from Spider-Man: No Way Home also transferred Adrian Toomes from the MCU to Sony’s Universe. It completely messed up with all the theories that fans had made about Dr Strange’s spell and might have some adverse effects on both the MCU and the Sony verse.

    Vulture’s new suit

The Post credit scene of Morbius showed Adrian Toomes in his Vulture suite but if you notice carefully, it is not the same as the one we saw in Spider-Man: Homecoming and upon being questioned about this, the director of the movie said ‘Adrian Toomes is a resourceful person’. However, we know that Toomes and his men exploited the remains of Chitauri tech in New York and made all their innovations around them. It is thus hard to believe that Toomes made a new suit all by himself without any Chitauri tech.

    Sinister 6 Teased

Sony has been teasing a possible formation of the Sinister 6 in the future for almost an eternity now but the post credit scene of Morbius actually gives us hope. The timing is perfect. Fans are crazily demanding for #MakeTASM3 and this might be Sony’s chance to bring back Andrew Garfield for his 3rd movie and in that movie, they might bring on a clash between him and the Sinister 6.

  • Morbius Review: A Boring, Lacklustre and Unnecessary take on a Fan-favourite Marvel character

Sony’s Morbius has finally been released worldwide and we are sad to say that the early reviews that criticized Daniel Espinosa’s take on the origin story of the age-old Marvel character were all but right. Morbius is boring, dull and definitely not up to the mark and I wonder how Sony even approved the production of such a Superhero movie standing in 2022. The movie somehow feels both sluggish and rushed at the same time and has a major pacing problem despite its short 1 hour 40 minutes runtime. In this article, we shall be reviewing the movie Morbius in detail.

The movie starts with the scene that we saw in the trailer where Dr Michael Morbius travels to Costa Rica to get hold of some extremely dangerous bloodthirsty bats. The very next shot turns to a past memory of the character when he is reminded of his days in Special care where he met his friend Milo.

After showing his backstory, we get back to the current day when Dr Michael Morbius wins the Nobel prize for his work on Artificial blood and we get to see his research to find a cure for his disease using the DNA of bats. These sudden transitions into timelines happen often in the movie which makes it difficult to keep track of what’s going on and breaks the flow of the movie.

Dr Michael Morbius is trying to spice up the human DNA with that of Bats to find a cure for himself, Milo and several other people who suffer from the same problem thus he conducts the first Human trials on himself onboard a Cargo ship in international Waters as his research is completely illegal. However, he gets turned into a living vampire. It needs to be noted down that Morbius’ transformation was extremely sudden and thus the spectators could not connect with the character at all. It was like one moment he lay motionless on the bed and in the very next moment, he was this big, strong and powerful creature who could kill anyone he wanted.

And this is where the loopholes begin to arise. If Morbius was going to hide his true identity from the world and thus escaped the ship, why did he even return to his lab and started moving in plain sight soon after? Moreover, Lucian’s attempt to kill Morbius and Nicholas and the question that why did he leave Martine earlier on if he had to kill her anyways in the near future? The makers of the movie better clear up these doubts from the movie as fast as possible.

The horrible cinematography does not help in the poor flow and lacklustre script of Morbius and the shaky camera scenes unnecessarily heighten the excitement for every scene thus we are unable to demarcate which is the scene that needs our complete focus.

Jared Leto has done a great job in portraying the character of Morbius. His aesthetic suits perfectly the character including the long hair and dark hoodie. Although it is high time that we stop being mesmerized by actors and start holding them responsible for a movie’s failure as well, in Leto’s case he can not be held responsible at all because it was completely the fault of the script and the makers to mess up the movie.

The villain of Morbius, Lucian a.k.a Milo, is perhaps the biggest letdown in the movie. He just does not have that much gravity in his character which will pull us into the story and is basically a poorly written character. He is based on Marvel comics’ Hunger and is one of the worst villains we have seen in any Marvel movie in the last few years.

Last but not the least, we must talk about the controversial Vulture post-credit scene which has completely messed up the theory behind Dr Strange’s spell and fans are left wondering how did it cause Adrian Toomes to travel to another universe permanently. It is unknown whether Sony has given the full theory a nice thought if they haven’t they might have made things much more complicated for their universe. However, this is an aspect that we might see being solved in the Madame Webb movie.

Sony’s Morbius is overall a complete failure. It has failed to revamp the audience’s fate in Sony’s very own Marvel verse and is a poor take on yet another Sony-owned Marvel character. The only good that came from it was perhaps the re-establishment of the possible Sinister 6 lineup in the future which might lead to a third Andrew Garfield Spider-Man scene.

  • American Rapper Megan Thee Stallion is likely to star in Marvel’s She-Hulk

Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series ‘She-Hulk’ has already added some heavy-hitters like Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner and Tim Roth as Abomination to their star cast. According to rumours, the makers are now looking to bring in some more familiar faces to the series and American rap sensation Megan Thee Stallion is reportedly under their radar as well.

The Cosmic Circus has reported that Megan Thee Stallion, who is a platinum recording artist, has shot one action scene for the series She-Hulk. Marché Day (Monique Ganderton), who has previously worked in some other Marvel projects like Loki and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, might probably be the stunt double of Megan Thee Stallion as she has been listed as “stunt double for a TBA actress” in the She-Hulk roster.

On the other hand, STUNT POC has specifically listed her as the Stunt double for Megan Thee Stallion which makes things even more intriguing. According to rumours, Megan Thee Stallion will appear as a fictionalized version of herself in the series for more than episodes. This means that she might be playing herself in the movie in a rather exaggerated form.

    Megan Thee Stallion

This is not the first time that a famous Hollywood artist will be appearing in an MCU project. We saw Harry Styles making a surprise cameo in the Post-credits scene of Chloe Zoe’s Eternals as Starfox and the role might become a mainstay in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the days to come. Every celebrity dreams to work with Marvel Studios nowadays as they are literally the biggest money-making studio in Hollywood right now.

Tatiana Maslany will be playing the main role of She-Hulk a.k.a Jennifer Walters in the series alongside the other well established MCU stars like Tim Roth and Mark Ruffalo. According to the latest rumours, Benedict Wong will also make an appearance in the series as Wong. You can read more about Wong’s cameo here

The release date of She-Hulk has not been confirmed yet but we know this much that it will be released somewhere around the latter half of 2022 after Ms Marvel which is set to release on 8th June.

  • She-Hulk rumour reveals THIS MCU superhero will make an appearance in the Disney+ series

Now that Moon Knight has officially been released worldwide and Marvel has also posted the trailer of Ms Marvel, the studio is now going to focus on their much anticipated upcoming Disnsey+ MCU series ‘She-Hulk’. She-Hulk will showcase the origin story of Bruce Banner’s cousin Jennifer Walters who gets converted into her green coloured self upon being transfused with Banner’s blood after an accident.

However, unlike her cousin, Jennifer Walters did not get transformed into a humungous monster. Yes, she is strong but not as strong as the Hulk but rather she got a significant boost in her confidence, appearance and her intelligence. Actor Tatiana Maslany will be playing the role of She-Hulk in the upcoming Disney+ series.

She-Hulk is set to be a completely unique Marvel project something we have never seen before from the Studio. It is set to be a comedy series, perhaps even Marvel’s first Sitcom styled series. Basically, it might turn out to be what Wanda Vision would have been without Agatha Harkness. However, rumour has it that for the same reason, the creators are having concerns about the series, i.e, they are having some creative problems. To be done with these problems, they have decided to bring in some stars from other MCU projects to create hype about the show.

Daredevil a.k.a Matt Murdock was the first MCU superhero who was linked to the show. However, his appearance was pretty obvious given the setting of the movie as Jennifer Walters herself is a lawyer by profession and Matt Murdock, as we all know, is an attorney. Fans are having some concerns regarding how a serious character like Matt Murdock who has been will fit in the comedic setting of She-Hulk and perhaps that is why a new character is now being rumoured to appear in She-Hulk as well.

According to reports, Sorcerer Supreme Wong is set to make a special appearance in She-Hulk. We have seen him making cameos in several other movies before (most notably in Shang-Chi) and all of his cameos have been comic thus he will be perfect for She-Hulk.

However, this also has some great implications. If Wong is set to appear in She-Hulk, it must imply one of these two things – he either does not die in Multiverse of Madness or the series is set before Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It will be feasible to predict that it is the first one because Wong has been an important character in the MCU over the last few years and Marvel will probably want to keep him for a bit longer.

  • Moon Knight Episode 1 Breakdown: Hidden Details, and Easter Eggs (SPOILER ALERT)

The first episode of Marvel’s latest Disney+ MCU series Moon Knight has now been released and the hype it has created already is unbelievable. Oscar Isaac’s unparalleled performance as the main lead combined with a gripping plot and jaw-dropping cinematography has made Moon Knight totally unputdownable and fans can not wait for the next episode.

However, there is a lot to talk about in the first episode itself as it gave away numerous easter eggs and hidden details that need a thorough explanation. Thus, in this article, we shall be breaking down the first episode of Moon Knight and we shall also be talking about the Easter Eggs and Hidden details present in it.

    1. The Opening Scene

Unlike most movies where we see the protagonists first, Moon Knight’s opening scene shows the antagonist Arthur Harrow and how he starts the day with his Egyptian traditions. This shows how Moon Knight is nothing like any other MCU project we have seen so far and adds different shades to all its characters.

    2. Arthur Harrow is a true believer of Ammit

The opening scene shows Arthur Harrow breaking a piece of glass with his stick which has two crocodile faces on it after drinking from it and then he put those broken glass pieces in his sandals. He then wore those sandals and it is most likely an Egyptian pain-enduring procedure to Meditate in which one inflicts pain upon oneself.

It is interesting because this scene proves that Arthur Harrow is not a fake ‘Guru’ and is indeed a staunch believer in Ammit and his ways as he is not inflicting all this pain as a ‘showoff’ and his followers are probably not even aware of it.

    3. Who is Ammit?

Ammit is an Egyptian funeral figure associated with judgement. He is seen with the head of a crocodile, front legs of a lion and hindquarters of a hippopotamus. According to popular Egyptian mythology, when someone dies, the god of death Annubis weighs their heart on a scale against the weight of a feather. If the heart weighs more than the feather, the heart and the person are fed to Ammit.

Ammit is not a god but is called the ‘Devourer of Deads’ and is feared by Egyptians. Ma’at is the Egyptian way of leading a perfect life and basically, if a person does not lead a life accordingly, he/she is devoured after their death by Ammit.

    4. Steven Grant’s identity is completely different from that in Comics

According to Marvel Comics, Marc Spector is the main identity of Moon Knight and Steven Grant is his alternate identity. Marc Spector is a mercenary while Steven Grant is a Billionaire Entrepreneur. While the Marc Spector part has been kept intact, Steven Grant’s character has been completely changed in the MCU.

The Moon Knight TV series shows that Steven Grant works at a library and has abundant knowledge about Egyptian history. Basically, he is broke and is definitely not a billionaire. This change in character has probably been made so that fans can not just say that Moon Knight is Marvel’s version of Batman (it has already happened before). Moreover, it seems so far that Steven Grant is the main identity according to the MCU show.

    5. Steven Grant’s connection to Egypt

Steven Grant’s connection with Egypt is extremely ironic as he does not even have a clue that he is the living incarnation of an Egyptian god itself. He works at a Museum and has a wide range of knowledge as far as Egyptian history is concerned.

Also, the first thing that Steven Grant does is that he steps on sand which is symbolic of the Egyptian sand and is another allusion to the fact that he is very much connected to Egypt at a subconscious level.

    6. Steven’s Dreams

Steven Grant a.k.a Marc Spector suffers from a split personality disorder and the series has shown it in the best way possible. According to the series, Steven Grant has very realistic dreams but what he actually isn’t aware of is that the Dreams are actually happening in his actual life through his alter ego Marc Spector and it helps us take a deep dive into the complex character of Marc Spector.

    7. The Sleepwalking Security Measures

Steven Grant has started to question his dreams of late and he suspects that they are real-life incidents thus he has formulated a way to Make sure that he is not going anywhere while in a dream. He thus ties his legs before going to bed and seals the gate.

However, Marc Spector is obviously smart enough to re-do those small intricacies after returning from his missions to make sure that Steven does not get suspicious and mess up with his mind further.

    8. Gus – Steven’s pet fish

Steven Grant has a one-finned pet fish called Gus. He swims around in circles inside his swimming pool just likes Steven whose life revolves around in circles. However, Gus also has a big role to play later in the episode to reveal that Steven is not actually dreaming but something much crazier is going on in his life when he wakes up from his dream to find out that Gus now had two fins.

Marc Spector had clearly replaced the fish with a two-finned one and it was revealed from the words of the woman from the shop as well.

    9. Steven’s Mother….?

Steven is often seen talking to his mother on the phone but this is a very suspicious scene as from what we know about the character, he has no family that we know of and thus he is possibly talking to no one on the phone which makes the scenes rather spooky. After all, he is a messed up character.

It is also possible that Steven and Marc interact with each other via Voice chats. The truth about his phone calls with his mother will probably be revealed in the upcoming episodes and we shall be looking forwards to unearthing the details of the same.

    10. Steven’s Best friends

There are three people who Steven talks the most with (from what we have seen so far in the first episode). They are Gus, his pet fish, his mother (who probably does not exist) and Crawley the street performer who pretends to be a statue.

Interestingly, none of these three can talk back to Steven.

    11. Atlantis Easter Egg

In the scene where Steven is going to catch the bus to his Museum, we see a building named ‘Atlantis Islands’ in the background. It is probably an easter egg referring to the hidden city of Atlantis that is ruled by Namor the Submariner. Atlantis and Namor are rumoured to make their MCU debuts with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

    12. The Mysterious Kid in the Museum

Just as Steven enters the museum, he sees that a little girl was sticking her gum into a mini pyramid of Giza and gives her a lesson about an intriguing fact about Egyptian history (basically the mythology of weighing their hearts) and the kid then makes a very suspicious statement.

“And did it suck for you getting rejected from the field of Reeds?” the girl says. This is highly suspicious for a little kid to make such a statement. Is she not was she seems to be?

However, Steven gives a very interesting response. He says, “That doesn’t make any sense because I’m not dead Am I? Am..I?” before he is cut off by Donna.

The “Am…I?” part shows that Steven himself is unsure about his reality due to his messed up dreams and he is not sure whether he is aware or not.

    13. The 9 Gods of Ennead

Steven points out a major blunder in a poster of Ennead in Donna’s office. The poster only had 7 gods while Ennead actually had 9. However, the poster also includes Hathor who is not actually a part of the Ennead but is the Sky Goddess. She is a very important deity who mates with Khonshu to enable creation. A Moon Knight link right there!

    14. Rift Between Gods and Men

Steven Grant reads many books related to Egyptian mythology and one of them showed a chapter on Ennead which read – “Rift between God and Man”.

This probably alludes to the relation of Khonshu and the other members of the Ennead with Humans and it probably sets them up as the new gods of the Marvel Universe alongside the Norse Gods and the Celestials.

    15. The first dream

Steven Grant falls asleep and wakes up with his jaw dislocated in an Alpine village (that is actually shot in Slovenia) and then he is chased by Arthur Harrow’s men. Apparently, after Steven fell asleep, Marc Spector took over, travelled to the Alps to steal the Scarab and got injured in the process. Unfortunately, Steven Grant regained consciousness right after that.

    16. Khonsu’s voice

After Steven Grant gets back his consciousness, we hear F Murray Abraham’s voice (the voice of Khonsu) and he says: “Go back to sleep worm” as if Steven is the one that does not belong in the mind. However, it might also be because this is a serious moment and Khonshu needs Marc Spector to save the Scarab and not Steven Grant.

    17. Alpine Natives speaking English?

The people who were chasing Marc Spector spoke in English and this suggested that they were not actually Alpine residents but rather followers of Arthur Harrow who are from different parts of the world and they just follow Arthur wherever he goes.

    18. Ammit’s judgement

When one of the followers of Arthur Harrow submits himself to the judgement of Ammit and Arthur Harrow acts as a medium to make the judgement. “I judge you in Ammit’s name with but a fraction of her power” he says as the scale tattoo in his hands start to move. It turns green and Harrow says “This is the face of a good man” which means that he is going to heaven.

However, the scales turn red for the old lady as the tattoo tips in the direction of her heart and she lays dead in front of Harrow. The scene proves that a person’s future deeds are also taken into account while Ammit makes her judgement.

    19. First look into Marc Spector’s Split personality

When Steven Grant is asked by Arthur to give away the Scarab, he is ready to part with the item but Khonshu’s voice asks him not to do so. He also physically restricts Steven from giving away the scarab by closing his hands and moving his body but when Arthur’s followers snatch the scarab from his, we get the first look into his split personality. In the very next scene we see that Steven has blood all over it and some of Arthur’s men lay dead on the ground.

What happened is that Marc Spector took over the control of the body and got the Scarab back by killing all those men. However, Steven got his consciousness back soon and as we are seeing the series from his perspective, we do not see Marc’s action sequence as Steven is not aware of it either. We see it this phenomenon multiple times throughout the dream sequence.

    20. It’s not a Dream!

When Steven Grant wakes up, he sees that he is still tied to the bed and thus thinks that he had been dreaming all this time. But a sequence of events proves that it was indeed a real-life incident. First he sees that his fish Gus had two fins and thus he went to the shop to find out the reason behind this anomaly. There he found out that it was evening and he thought that he had slept for the entire day and prepared for his date.

However, on calling his date, he found out the it was Sunday and not Friday and thus he had no whereabouts regarding the 2 days of his life that he missed. This proved that Steven Grant has not been seeing Dreams all these days and those are actually real life events.

    21. Layla and Duchamp

After returning from the steak restaurant, Steven finds the hidden chamber which had a phone. He turned it on to find several calls from Layla. However an interesting detail is that one of the calls was from a person called Duchamp. Jean-Paul Duchamp was a mercenary and a partner to Moon Knight in Marvel comics.

    22. The Elevator scene

After seeing a moving and talking reflection of himself in the mirror, Steven runs out of his apartment and steps into the lift. However, the lift behaves weirdly and it stops on an empty third floor and then again on the second where Khonshu runs towards him from the hall but when he grabs the door of the lift, an elderly woman comes inside the lift.

However this does not make any sense as is it was indeed the elderly woman who Steven had seen, she was far away from the elevator and summoning button. Moreover, although we saw that Steven was hitting the button for the ground floor, the elevator took them to the 5th floor where the lady took off to meet her friend Claire. He turns back to see Khonshu right behind him and we get his first close up shot.

    23. The Bus Scene

Right after the elevator scene, Steven finds himself inside a bus. Outside the window he sees Khonshu who immediately disappears. Steven escapes the bus and sees Arthur Harrow inside. It means that either Marc Spector was spying on Arthur or vice versa.

    24. Who Betrayed Ammit?

Arthur Harrow comes to see Steven Grant in the museum where he talks with him about Ammit. He said that if Ammit was not betrayed by her own Avatar, she would have stopped beings like Hitler from causing mass catastrophe.

Now question arises, who is this Avatar? According to some theories, this might have something to do with the Eternals or maybe even Pharaoh Rama-Tut who was actually a variant of Nathaniel Richards or Kang the Conquerer.

    25. Steven/Marc is impossible to judge

Arthur Harrow tries to use his scales to judge Steven Grant’s soul but the scales never settle. After this, Arthur says, “There’s chaos in you”. Now why could Steven’s soul not be assessed by Ammit’s scales? Well this could be solely because of Marc Spector’s split personality disorder as all his identities have a totally different moral allignment from each other and thus it is impossible to judge him.

    26. Marc Spector takes control

When Steven Grant is under attack by the Jackal at night in the Museum and he locks himself up in the Public washroom, for the first time, Marc Spector talks to him directly from the mirrors and says that he could save them both but Steven needed to give control of the body to Marc. He did so by looking Marc straight into his eyes following which he turned into Moon Knight and beat the hell out of the creature.

    27. Marc is Moon Knight and not Steven

Well, now we probably know why Khonshu is so rude with Steven always. It is Marc who Khonshu gave his powers and not Steven and thus only Marc could use those powers to turn into Moon Knight. However these dynamics could change in the upcoming episodes of the series and will definitely be interesting to watch.
