  • Latest Marvel rumour reveals many Thor variants will appear in Thor: Love and Thunder

    Thor: Love and Thunder: Perhaps the biggest question that Marvel fans from all over the world have right now is when will the trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder be released. Thor 4 is the most anticipated MCU project of the year after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and it is set to release on 8th July 2022. However, less than four months are left in its original release date and the Marvel Studios are yet to release the trailer of the movie this has heightened the excitement about the movie. 

    While some sources have revealed that the movie is undergoing some major reshoots, especially in the scenes involving Christian Bale who plays the role of Gorr the God Butcher in this movie, some also suggest that the real reason might be much more serious and that Marvel might be facing some problems regarding Thor: Love and Thunder. Meanwhile, we have come across a very feisty rumour about the movie which will keep the hype about Thor 4 up and rolling. 

    Thor: Love and Thunder to Show Multiple Thor Variants

    According to this latest rumor, Thor: Love and Thunder will include Thors from various time periods. It also said that they’ll each have a distinct tone and help conquer Gorr the God Butcher. Well, for the unversed, this has originally taken place in Marvel Comics and if MCU indeed goes down that path, Thor: Love and Thunder might very well become a comic-book accurate movie. However, the involvement of Mighty Thor a.k.a Jane Foster hinders that notion as Gorr never actively faced the Mighty Thor. 

    Gorr the God Butcher has appeared in mainly two comic book series in the Thor franchise and that was in Thor: God of Thunder and King Thor. In one of the comic book series, Gorr the God Butcher made all the Norse Gods his slaves and he forced them to create one of the strongest weapons in the Universe for him which was called the God Bomb. It would wipe out all the Gods from existence in the blink of an eye and thus Thor variants from three different timelines – Young Thor, Thor (the one we know) and Old Thor came together to face Gorr. 

    Unfortunately, the God Butcher still managed to defeat them all and he could finally be stopped only after his own son turned against him. This is one of the classic Thor tales and it would be brilliant if the makers of Thor 4 was used in their storyline for the movie. However very little is known about the movie so far and we can not say anything for sure unless the trailer is released.

  • Thor: Love and Thunder Confirmed and Rumoured Cast, all details

    Thor: Love and Thunder will be Marvel’s third movie to be released in 2022. It is the fourth instalment of Marvel’s Thor series and is set to bring about a number of big changes in the character and MCU itself. Jane Foster (played by Natalie Portman) will reportedly have a big role to play in Thor: Love and Thunder as she makes her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

    In this article, we shall be talking about the confirmed and rumoured cast of Thor: Love and Thunder. 

    Thor: Love and Thunder Cast

    Confirmed Star Cast

    1. Chris Hemsworth – Thor 

    Chris Hemsworth will continue as MCU’s Thor in the fourth movie of the franchise. This will be Hemsworth’s first appearance in a Marvel movie after Avengers: Endgame. 

    Many are of the opinion that this will also be his last movie playing Thor as Natalie Portman a.k.a Jane Foster will carry forward the Thor mantle from this hereon. 

    Nevertheless, being the protagonist, Chris Hemsworth will have a big role to play in the movie. 

    2. Christian Bale – Gorr the God Butcher

    It has now been confirmed that Academy Award-winning actor Christian Bale will be making his MCU debut as Gorr the God Butcher. We do not have a first look of the character as well but fans are eagerly waiting for the trailer to see what the character has in store for them. 

    2. Taika Waititi – Korg

    Taika Waititi will voice the CGI made character of Korg. You will remember him as the stone-like friend of Thor from Thor: Ragnarok. He was also spotted playing a video game in Avengers: Endgame. 

    For the unknown, Taiki Waititi is also the director of the film. 

    3. Natalie Portman – Jane Foster

    Perhaps the most important character of the movie, Jane Foster will undergo some serious character development in Thor: Love and Thunder. 

    She was last spotted in Thor: Dark Lord when the Ether accidentally bonded with her and Natalie Portman will return to MCU with this movie. 

    Jane Foster might become the Mighty Thor in this movie according to rumours. If that happens, she would carry the mantle of Thor’s character in the MCU from hereon. This is highly possible given the fact that Thor himself seemingly has no interest in maintaining the God-like status anymore. 

    4. Tessa Thompson – Valkyrie

    Tessa Thompson played the role of Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame. She would continue in that role in Thor: Love and Thunder as well. 

    At the end of Avengers: Endgame, Thor willingly gave away the throne of Asgard to Valkyrie and himself went on a journey with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Valkyrie is thus the ruler of New Asgard now. 

    It will be interesting to see what the director has in store for Tessa Thompson. 

    5. Russell Crowe – Zeus

    Russell Crowe, whom we have previously seen in Gladiator (2000) and Unhinged (2020), will be playing the role of Almighty Zeus in the movie. 

    According to Marvel comics, he is the supreme monarch of the Olympians (Olympus was a pocket dimension) and is insanely powerful. It is unknown as to what role he will play in Thor: Love and Thunder. 

    6. Jaimie Alexander – Sif

    Jaimie Alexander will be playing the role of Norse Goddess Sif. She is also called Sybil in Marvel comics. We have seen her in the previous Thor movies.

    Rumoured Star Cast

    1. Chris Pratt – Peter Quill a.k.a Star-Lord

    The last scene of Avengers: Endgame showed that Thor was travelling with the Guardians of Galaxy on their spaceship. It is thus anticipated that some of the actors from Guardians of Galaxy will appear in Thor: Love and Thunder. 

    2. Karen Gillan – Nebula

    In Avengers: Endgame we saw Nebula killing her older meaner self. The version of Nebula in our timeline is the one we are aware of and she can appear in Thor 4 as well. 

    3. Dave Bautista – Drax

    Dave Bautista was spotted in the sets of Thor: Love and Thunder. He is yet another Guardians of the Galaxy member who can appear in the movie.

    While the world is busy anticipating the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Marvel is busy working on yet another Magnum Opus which is set to release in the latter half of this year. Yes, we are talking about Thor: Love and Thunder, the third instalment movie of the Chris Hemsworth starring superhero series. 

    Marvel’s previous works in the Thor line of movies include Thor(2011), Thor: The Dark World(2013) and Thor: Ragnarok(2017). Although it is a widely accepted fact that the Odin-son is perhaps the strongest Superhero in the MCU, his individual movies were not that successful, to begin with. Luckily that ended with Thor: Ragnarok which was a blockbuster hit (many consider it to be the greatest Marvel movie ever). After the success of Thor: Ragnarok, Marvel gave a green signal to the fourth Thor movie as well.

    Although very little is known about Thor: Love and Thunder, Marvel might just have confirmed the villain of the movie. An official lego set for the movie reveals that the antagonist in it will be none other than Gorr the ‘God Butcher’ who is famously known as the wielder of the almighty Necrosword (‘All Black’). 

    Who is Gorr the God Butcher? What is his role in Thor: Love and Thunder?

    Gorr the God Butcher

    According to Marvel comics, Gorr was the resident of a very poor planet that and his race was on the verge of extinction. However, all of them, including Gorr, were mighty believers in God. They somehow found a way of resurrecting their faith in God despite all of their hardship. 

    However, things worsened and Gorr’s entire family died of starvation. He thus lost his faith in god. He said that Gods either do not exist or they are evil as they never came to rescue them from their gruesome lifestyle. As a result, he was banished by his own ‘Religious’ community. 

    While in exile, he witnessed two Gods fighting till death. He thus became certain that his second theory that Gods are evil, was indeed true. When both the gods died, the weapon of one of them got attached to Gorr and bonded with him giving him immense powers. The God was none other than Knull, who is popularly known as the father of all Symbiotes (including Venom) and the weapon was the Necrosword. 

    With the use of the power he gained, Gorr went on a mission to kill all the Gods in the world and he eventually met the Mjolnir wielding God of Asgard. This might be inculcated in the storyline of Thor: Love and Thunder. 

    Who will play the role of Gorr?

    According to many rumours, Academy Award winning actor Christian Bale is set to feature in the Thor: Love and Thunder as Gorr. Although nothing is confirmed yet, this is one rumour that everyone is excited for.
