  • Charlie Cox says he knows ‘Something’ about Daredevil’s future in the MCU

As we all know, Matt Murdock, a.k.a Daredevil has made his return to the MCU in style with Spider-Man: No Way Home. His cameo in the recently released Spider-Man movie was one of the most applauded and well-received in the entire movie. However, actor Charlie Cox, who plays the role of Daredevil, has revealed that this is not it for the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and that there is much more to come.

Charlie Cox’s version of Daredevil shot to fame right after being released on Netflix back in 2015. Netflix and Marvel had a deal regarding some of their street-level characters like Daredevil, Punisher, Kingpin, Bullseye, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, etc.

Daredevil being cancelled by Netflix and His return to MCU

Thanks to that, the streaming company released various Marvel Extended Universe series in the next few years. The notable titles included Daredevil (3 seasons), Punisher (2 seasons), Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Iron Cage and the Defenders which was the series in which all these characters came together as a unit to fight injustice.

Daredevil was undoubtedly the most favourite series out of the lot. It is to date one of the highest-rated MCU series even after the introduction of MCU’s Disney+ series and there are some very clear reasons for it. The brilliant script, direction and narration of Daredevil and the way it Matt Murdock are some of the most humble and Superpowers-deserving heroes.

The show ran for three seasons before being cancelled in 2018 due to the complex relationship between Netflix and Marvel.

With that, there was a huge doubt regarding the future of Marvel’s fan-favourite Superhero in the MCU.

Thankfully, Marvel did not forget him and after about three years’ worth of wait, Charlie Cox finally returned as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Charlie Cox talks about the future of Daredevil in MCU

However, now that he has already been introduced in the MCU, Marvel seemingly has something big planned for the character – and Charlie Cox probably just admitted it in an interview.

Charlie Cox has always been very open regarding his appearance in the Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, in his most recent interview, he revealed probably a bit too much. The actor said that as per his knowledge, No Way Home will not be the only MCU project that he will be the only MCU project he was a part of lately and many more surprises are on the way.

He teased that he knew ‘something’ about the future of Daredevil.

“I know something. I don’t know much, but I know there will be something else,” Charlie Cox said.

  • Marvel’s Netflix Series will be available on Disney Plus – But not in all countries!

When Netflix announced a few weeks ago that they shall stop streaming their Marvel series like Daredevil, Punisher, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and the Defenders, it was heartbreaking for many fans.

Netflix’s Daredevil is till date considered to be one of the Best Marvel series ever. The Charlie Cox starrer had to be first cancelled due to the complex relationship between Marvel and Netflix and it is now being removed from the platform altogether.

For a long time, there had been confusion regarding the future of these series. Marvel was yet to announce the names of the streaming platforms on which these series will be able to stream going forward. However, things are slowly coming in place now and the cloud of confusion has now passed.

Disney+ Canada to start streaming the Netflix series

Disney+ has announced that the Marvel TV series which were previously available on Netflix, will now be available on Disney+. However, the same is true only in the country of Canada. However, a decision will be made for the other countries as soon as possible. The series leave Netflix at the end of February.

The fate of the shows in the United States of America is under concern though. In the US, Disney+ is a family-friendly streaming platform while the more mature content is usually released on Hulu. The nature of these Netflix shows suits more with the Hulu kind of shows and thus Disney will have to make a decision to sort out this confusion. If they decide to not show mature content on their platform in the US, a deal must be sorted out with Hulu soon.

Netflix cut their ties with Marvel in 2018 and according to the deal, Marvel will be getting back the rights to all the characters and also the series on 28th February 2022.

We can very well see that they have already started working on adding these characters in the MCU. We saw Kingpin in the last Disney+ MCU series Hawkeye while Charlie Cox made a cameo in Spider-Man no way home as Matt Murdock (Daredevil). The two characters will reportedly also appear in the upcoming Disney+ series ‘Echo’ which is based on the alter ego of Maya Lopez. We can infer from the recent interviews of Charlie Cox and Kevin Feige that Marvel has many thing planned for their Defenders-verse characters.

  • Netflix set to Stop Streaming its MCU shows – Future of Daredevil, Punisher and Kingpin Revealed

Netflix has announced that its popular Marvel Cinematic Universe shows like Daredevil, Punisher, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and the Defenders will no longer be available on the streaming platform from March.

The relation between Netflix and Marvel had been complicated right from the beginning and things worsened in 2018 when Netflix had to cancel the 4th season of Daredevil due to a rift between the two companies.

The worst part is, it is not confirmed yet as to which platform will stream the series after March, leaving Marvel’s DefendersVerse fans in a fix.

The Daredevil is till date one of the highest rated MCU series and fans love it for many reasons. It is a shame that it will have to be taken down from Netflix so abruptly without a prior solution.

However, MCU has started including the DefendersVerse characters in their latest movies and TV shows. Vincent D’Onofrio who played Wilson Fisk a.k.a Kingpin in the Netflix shows recently appeared in the latest Disney+ MCU series Hawkeye. It thus looks like the characters have a future in MCU after all.

Charlie Cox also appeared in Spiderman: No Way Home as Matthew Murdock a.k.a Daredevil himself and it proves that Marvel is trying to bring its famous characters out of Netflix into the MCU.

Future of DefendersVerse characters (Daredevil, Punisher, Kingpin and More)

    Punisher and Daredevil

After Netflix stops streaming the MCU shows, there is a high chance that they will soon be available on Disney+ Hotstar. This will give all the freedom in the world to Marvel to use Daredevil, Kingpin and other characters in their upcoming shows in whichever way they wish.

A revival of the Daredevil series and the return of Charlie Cox in Daredevil’s solo series is also a possibility. Given the popularity of the series, there is no reason why Marvel would not want to bring it back.

However they might have bigger things in store for the Man without Fear. According to reports, both Daredevil and Wilson Fisk might star in the upcoming Disney+ Hotstar series ‘Echo’ which is the origin story of Maya Lopez’s alter ego.

Marvel has a detailed strategy prepared for their upcoming movies and TV series. And the DefendersVerse characters are surely in their plans as well.

  • Charlie Cox reveals the future of Daredevil in the MCU

Ever since Charlie Cox’s appearance in MCU’s latest Magnum opus – “Spiderman: No Way Home” as Matt Murdock, a.k.a the Daredevil, fans have been eager to know the future of the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We witnessed the Masked blind vigilante protecting Hell’s Kitchen in Marvel’s DefendersVerse on Netflix and it was one of the first and (till date) the highest rated Marvel Web series in existence. We last saw Daredevil teaming up with Jessica Jones, The Punisher, Luke Cage and Iron Fist in the Defenders and then in Daredevil 3 in 2018.

Netflix canceled the fan-favorite show in 2018 right after that and left fans wondering about the future of Daredevil. They saw a glimpse of Matt Murdock as the lawyer of Peter Parker in No Way Home after 3 long years and they are now more excited than ever to know what Marvel has in plans for their ‘The Man without Fear’.

Daredevil was not the only DefendersVerse character to make his MCU debut recently. In Marvel’s latest Disney+ Hotstar show ‘Hawkeye’, we saw Wilson Fisk, a.k.a the Kingpin as the main antagonist.

The Kingpin has been a renowned foe of Spiderman, Hawkeye and Daredevil in Marvel comics and is one of the best known street-level villains in the Marvel Universe.

We saw Vincent D’Onofrio playing Wilson Fisk in Netflix’ Daredevil as the adversary of Matthew Murdock and according to reports, we can see the duo together soon in an upcoming MCU project.

Charlie Cox opens up on ‘No Way Home’ cameo and teases MCU return

Amid such rumors, on-screen Matt Murdock Charlie Cox has finally opened up about his cameo in No Way Home. He also talked about his possible future in the MCU and hinted that he might be involved with Marvel for the next 10 Years !.

In an interview with HeyUGuys, Cox said, “I think at this point, I expect to be involved in some capacity. Otherwise, it would be a bit of a weird one-scene moment. I don’t know much, I know a little, and what I do know I’m very excited about…there’s a chance it could be the next ten years of my life.”

In the Season Finale of Hawkeye, we saw Maya confronting Kingpin for having her father killed. The scene fades into oblivion before Maya can kill Kingpin and all we can hear is the gun sound.

According to Marvel comics, Kingpin persuades Maya into believing that Daredevil was the one who caused her father’s death. Maya shoots him and he temporarily loses his eyesight.

This might be a big trail hinting at an MCU comeback for both Kingpin and Daredevil. As we know by now, Disney+ is planning a new MCU series featuring Echo – Maya Lopez’s alter ego. It might show the confrontation between Daredevil, Maya and Kingpin. With Kevin Feighe having confirmed that Charlie Cox will continue as Daredevil in the MCU, it is a possibility.

Daredevil and Kingpin might feature in MCU series “Echo”

Nothing has been made official by Marvel yet but it is definitely a theory worth being excited for for the Marvel fans.
