  • MCU Producer Teases Spider-Man’s Future in the Franchise’s Phase 5 and Beyond

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has become a cultural phenomenon in recent years, captivating audiences with its epic superhero storylines and larger-than-life characters. As the franchise moves into Phase 5 and beyond, fans are eagerly anticipating what’s in store for their favorite heroes.

One character that remains a mystery is Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, who last appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home. To shed some light on the MCU’s plans for Phase 5, we spoke with Stephen Broussard, a Marvel Studios producer, about the upcoming slate of films and how they will continue to expand the universe.

In this interview, Broussard references the iconic Spider-Man line “with great power comes great responsibility” and hints at what’s to come for the MCU’s new generation of heroes.

    Here is the full Interview:

Interviewer: Marvel fans are eagerly waiting to know what the future holds for their favorite characters in Phase 5 and beyond. And one of the most popular characters is undoubtedly Spider-Man. So, what can we expect from him in the upcoming phases of the MCU? To answer this question, we have with us Stephen Broussard, a producer at Marvel Studios. Welcome, Stephen.

Stephen Broussard: Thank you for having me.

Interviewer: Let’s start with Phase 4. How was it different from the previous phases, and what can we expect from Phase 5?

Stephen Broussard: Well, I think one of the meta-narratives of Phase Four was about new characters. It was about new people stepping into mantles, and taking on new roles and responsibilities. Phase 5, on the other hand, will focus on building upon the foundation that Phase 4 set up, exploring the themes and storylines that were introduced in the previous phase, and taking them to the next level.

Spider-Man is the key to MCU Future

Interviewer: That sounds exciting. Now, let’s talk about Spider-Man. Can you tell us whether he’ll be a part of Phase 5 or beyond?

Stephen Broussard: I can’t reveal anything specific, but I can say that Spider-Man is an integral part of the MCU, and we have big plans for him in the future. Tom Holland is an incredible actor, and his portrayal of Spider-Man is loved by fans all around the world. We know how important this character is, and we want to do justice to his story.

Interviewer: That’s great to hear. Spider-Man has always been a fan favorite, and his recent movie, No Way Home, was a huge success. Can you give us any hints about his future in the MCU?

Stephen Broussard: All I can say is that we are constantly looking for ways to push the boundaries and surprise the fans. Spider-Man is a character that has been around for a long time, and we want to make sure that we tell his story in a way that feels fresh and exciting. We have a lot of ideas, and we’re excited to explore them in the upcoming phases.

Interviewer: That’s intriguing. With the introduction of the multiverse, there are a lot of possibilities for Spider-Man’s story. Can you tell us if he’ll be involved in the upcoming Avengers movies?

Stephen Broussard: Again, I can’t reveal anything specific, but I can say that Spider-Man is a crucial part of the MCU, and he’ll play a role in shaping the future of the franchise. As for the Avengers movies, all I can say is that they’re going to be epic, and fans won’t be disappointed.

Interviewer: That sounds exciting. Finally, can you give us a hint about what’s in store for the MCU beyond Phase 5?

Stephen Broussard: The MCU is constantly evolving, and we have big plans for the future. We want to tell stories that are diverse, inclusive, and entertaining. We want to take the franchise in new directions and explore new territories. There are a lot of exciting things in store for the fans, and we can’t wait for them to see what we have in store.

Interviewer: Thank you so much for your time, Stephen. It was great talking to you.

Stephen Broussard: Thank you for having me. It was a pleasure.

  • Kang the Conqueror to Play a Larger Role in Loki Season 2: What to Expect

Marvel fans were already excited about the prospect of Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror appearing in Loki’s second season. But a new report from The Cosmic Circus indicates that the villain will play an even larger role in the show’s upcoming episodes.

According to the outlet, Kang the Conqueror will have a “far more present role” in Season 2, with Majors expected to appear in at least three episodes. This news, while unconfirmed by Marvel Studios, has fans speculating about what the villain’s involvement could mean for the series.

One possibility is that Loki and Mobius will travel to various timestreams in search of different Kang Variants. The Cosmic Circus reports that fans shouldn’t rule out the appearance of other versions of the villain in addition to the already confirmed Victor Timely.

Kang the Conqueror’s Role in Loki Season 2

With so many variations of Kang to choose from, it’s hard to predict which ones might show up next. Fans are already speculating about the possibility of Loki and Mobius encountering Rama-Tut in Ancient Egypt or Mr. Gryphon, who in the comics buys Stark (or Avengers) Tower.

Another intriguing possibility is that the duo will run into He Who Remains again, but this time, it’ll be during his rise to power before he created the Sacred Timeline. This could provide some fascinating plot developments while further fleshing out the mysterious character who scared Hiddleston’s former villain so badly.

As for what we can expect from Kang the Conqueror’s larger role in the series, it’s anyone’s guess. But with Marvel’s track record for crafting complex and compelling villains, fans are eagerly anticipating the Conqueror’s next move.

Loki Season 2 is expected to premiere on Disney+ later this year, and fans will be eagerly tuning in to see what Kang has in store for the God of Mischief and his allies.

  • Ant-Man 3’s Post-Credits Scene Sets the Stage for Avengers 5: The Kang Dynasty

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’s post-credit scene has set the stage for the Multiverse Saga in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The scene introduced the Council of Kangs, a group of Kang Variants, led by Immortus, Scarlet Centurion, and Rama-Tut. The Council’s primary objective is to eliminate other Kang Variants from each alternate reality. The scene suggests that Earth-616’s heroes are slowly tapping into the Multiverse, posing a potential threat to the Council’s goals.

Ant-Man 3's Post-Credits Scene Sets the Stage for Avengers 5: The Kang Dynasty

Jonathan Majors made a triumphant comeback in the post-credits scene, portraying a plethora of Kang Variants. Immortus, Scarlet Centurion, and Rama-Tut were the three main Kang Variants featured in the scene. Immortus acts as the leader, with Scarlet Centurion and Rama-Tut appearing to be second-in-command.

The post-credit scene of Ant-Man 3 sets up the events of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. The Council of Kangs is aware that Earth-616’s heroes are tapping into the Multiverse, and this echoes back to the Avengers’ first victory against Loki. Kang the Conqueror’s fate is unknown, but it’s possible that the Council led by Immortus, Rama-Tut, and Scarlet Centurion could become the villains of the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Avengers 5.

The post-credit scene of Ant-Man 3 ends with a tag saying, “Kang will return,” indicating that Kang the Conqueror is far from dead. Some have theorized that Kang the Conqueror could become Beyonder, making him a surprise entrant in Avengers 5 that could help the heroes defeat every Kang Variant. However, this could lead to Kang ultimately betraying them and trapping the heroes into his own version of Battleworld, an entirely new reality described as a chaotic place from the comics.

In conclusion, the post-credit scene of Ant-Man 3: Quantumania introduces the Council of Kangs and sets up the events of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. The scene also hints at Kang the Conqueror’s return and his role as the ultimate villain in the Multiverse Saga in the MCU.

  • Breaking: Spider-Man 4 with Tom Holland Confirmed by Kevin Feige

This exciting news comes hot on the heels of the highly anticipated release of Antman and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Holland first made his debut as Spider-Man in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, and since then, he has gone on to become one of the most beloved characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Holland’s portrayal of the web-slinger has been praised for its youthful energy, wit, and heart, and his chemistry with other MCU characters, particularly Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark/Iron Man, has been a highlight of the franchise.

Kevin Feige Confirms Spider-Man 4 in works

While details about Spider-Man 4 are still scarce, Feige did reveal that the story is already in development, and the writers are currently working on the script. He also teased that the movie will have big ideas, which is sure to excite fans who are eager to see what’s next for Spider-Man.

Spider-Man 4 will be the fourth standalone installment in the Spider-Man series within the MCU, following Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. Holland has become synonymous with the character, and his return is sure to bring in a huge audience when the film is finally released.

At this point, there is no official release date for Spider-Man 4, and Feige didn’t give away any hints about the plot or which villains Spider-Man will be facing off against. However, given the success of the previous films, and the excitement surrounding the upcoming Phase 5 of the MCU, fans can rest assured that Spider-Man 4 will be another thrilling addition to the franchise.

  • Robert Downey Jr. reveals what he misses most about the Marvel

Robert Downey Jr. recently revealed what he misses most about being a part of the MCU. Downey Jr. starred in the first installment of the MCU, the 2008 film Iron Man, and would go on to appear in a total of 11 films in the franchise. Portraying billionaire genius Tony Stark, Downey Jr. starred in three Iron Man films and four Avengers films, making Tony one of the most integral and central characters of the MCU. After 11 long years in the MCU, Downey Jr. exited the franchise when Tony sacrificed himself in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, the final film of The Infinity Saga. Even after Tony’s death, his influence continues in the MCU, with his sacrifice often referenced in later Marvel films. However, Downey Jr. hasn’t actually appeared in any Marvel movies since 2019.

In an interview with Deadline, Downey Jr. revealed what he misses most about the MCU. Downey Jr. says he missed “being in the trenches” with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige for so many years and traveling with each Iron Man director. He also praises directors Jon Favreau, Shane Black, and the Russo Brothers, who made Downey Jr.’s time in the MCU memorable, and who helped him embrace Tony Stark from beginning to end. Read Robert Downey Jr.’s full comment below:

“What I miss most? Being in the trenches with Kevin Feige throughout; the beginning, with Jon Favreau, it’s like a beautiful dream now; the middle, with Shane Black on Iron Man 3, we’d just had Exton and shot it mostly in Wilmington N.C. It was idyllic and subversive. And The End, when I realized I’d made so many close friends in the MCU cast, and the Russo Brothers helping me embrace Tony’s arc.”

Robert Downey Jr.’s Marvel Legacy is Still Strong:

Although Marvel fans were heartbroken to see Tony die in the last Avengers movie, Downey Jr. has reflected many times in the past on how rewarding it was to play the character, and how he felt he knew when to stop. Downey Jr. said that he had “an incredible 10-year run that was creatively satisfying,” but that he had “done everything” with the Marvel films. Like Tony in Avengers: Endgame, Downey Jr. has said he wants to focus more on his family and his philanthropic work, and it was a good time for him to leave the franchise in the hands of the next generation of heroes.

Despite Robert Downey Jr.’s departure, his legacy at Marvel remains strong. While there are successors to other MCU heroes, like Steve Rogers handing over Captain America’s shield to Sam Wilson, there was no immediate replacement for Iron Man until Black Panther: Wakanda Forever introduced Ironheart. Dominic Thorne, who plays Ironheart, said that Downey Jr. encouraged him to make sure Riri Williams “is and always should be her own person, her own thing.” While Ironheart is the spiritual successor to Iron Man, Downey Jr. is making sure that Thorne is creating a legacy of his own rather than directly following in his footsteps.

Is Robert Downey Jr. Returning To The MCU?

While Robert Downey Jr. has said that his Marvel days are done, that doesn’t mean he won’t return to the MCU at a later date. With Marvel actors being brought back from their genre retirement for recent films, as with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness with Patrick Stewart, the MCU has proved that anything is possible. While there has also been some speculation about Tony Stark potentially being re-cast in future Marvel films, fans have dismissed the idea, saying that Robert Downey Jr. is too young to change the Marvel Cinematic Universe. are important.

  • Netflix set to Stop Streaming its MCU shows – Future of Daredevil, Punisher and Kingpin Revealed

Netflix has announced that its popular Marvel Cinematic Universe shows like Daredevil, Punisher, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and the Defenders will no longer be available on the streaming platform from March.

The relation between Netflix and Marvel had been complicated right from the beginning and things worsened in 2018 when Netflix had to cancel the 4th season of Daredevil due to a rift between the two companies.

The worst part is, it is not confirmed yet as to which platform will stream the series after March, leaving Marvel’s DefendersVerse fans in a fix.

The Daredevil is till date one of the highest rated MCU series and fans love it for many reasons. It is a shame that it will have to be taken down from Netflix so abruptly without a prior solution.

However, MCU has started including the DefendersVerse characters in their latest movies and TV shows. Vincent D’Onofrio who played Wilson Fisk a.k.a Kingpin in the Netflix shows recently appeared in the latest Disney+ MCU series Hawkeye. It thus looks like the characters have a future in MCU after all.

Charlie Cox also appeared in Spiderman: No Way Home as Matthew Murdock a.k.a Daredevil himself and it proves that Marvel is trying to bring its famous characters out of Netflix into the MCU.

Future of DefendersVerse characters (Daredevil, Punisher, Kingpin and More)

    Punisher and Daredevil

After Netflix stops streaming the MCU shows, there is a high chance that they will soon be available on Disney+ Hotstar. This will give all the freedom in the world to Marvel to use Daredevil, Kingpin and other characters in their upcoming shows in whichever way they wish.

A revival of the Daredevil series and the return of Charlie Cox in Daredevil’s solo series is also a possibility. Given the popularity of the series, there is no reason why Marvel would not want to bring it back.

However they might have bigger things in store for the Man without Fear. According to reports, both Daredevil and Wilson Fisk might star in the upcoming Disney+ Hotstar series ‘Echo’ which is the origin story of Maya Lopez’s alter ego.

Marvel has a detailed strategy prepared for their upcoming movies and TV series. And the DefendersVerse characters are surely in their plans as well.

  • Marvel Studios receives Oscar nomination for Two movies in the same category

The year 2021 belonged to Marvel. The Marvel Cinematic Universe came up with some masterpiece movies and series (Disney+ MCU series) in 2021. MCU fans were introduced with the concept of Multiverse for the first time in 2021 through Marvel’s Disney+ series WandaVision and Loki. They added to that theory with their Magnum Opus film of the year, Spider-Man: No Way Home which became one of their most successful blockbusters ever.

Apart from these, MCU added a number of new characters in their roster with Shang Chi and The Legend of the ten Rings and Eternals. They also stuck to their small-scale projects with Hawkeye and Falcon and the Winter Soldier, both of which were again Disney+ series. Marvel thus expanded their cinematic universe ten folds in 2021.

No Way Home and Shang Chi get nominated for Oscars

They have now been rightfully awarded for their achievements as two of their movies – Shang Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings and Spider-Man: No Way Home have been nominated for oscars.

Both the movies have been nominated for the same category – Best Visual Effects. A major part of almost every Marvel movie is made with CGI effects. Spider-Man: Now Way Home was almost entirely CGI manipulated. The fight between Peter Parker and Dr. Strange in the mirror dimension was probably the best Visual effects in the movie. It was done completely with the help of CGI.

The mirror dimension scene from Spider-Man: No Way Home

Moreover, every Super-villain in the movie except William Defoe’s Green Goblin needed some sort of CGI manipulation – like Doc Ock’s mechanical arms and Electro’s glow. Not to mention, Sandman and Lizards were completely VFX made.

In Shang Chi, the final battle between Wenwu and Shang Chi which included the Ten Rings was undoubtedly the best scene of the movie. The visual effects and the details involved in that scene were just perfect. Moreover, the scene involving the Great Protector and the Dweller in Darkness was absolutely sensational as well.

The Epic Battle scene between Wenwu and Shang Chi

However, many Marvel fans are disappointed as Spider-Man: No Way Home was not nominated for the Best picture award. However, the competition in that category was immense and as we all know, SuperHero movies are often not prioritized in these categories. “Belfast,” “Coda,” “Don’t Look Up,” “Drive My Car,” “Dune,” “King Richard,” “Licorice Pizza,” “Nightmare Alley,” “The Power of the Dog,” and “West Side Story” were all nominated for the Best Picture.

Although the two marvel movies are top contenders to win the Oscar for Best Visual effects, they have tough competition there as well. ‘Dune’, ‘No Time To Die’ and ‘Free Guy’ have also been nominated. Sci Fi epic ‘Dune’ is a favorite to win the award.

  • Sony makes big change in latest Morbius Poster – Finally fixes the movie’s ‘Possible’ MCU problem

Sony’s Spider-Man spinoff ‘Morbius’ is set to hit the theaters on 1st April, 2022. The movie was initially scheduled to release on 28th January but the date was later postponed due to the surge of COVID-19 cases across the globe from the Omicron variant.

After the success of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, Marvel’s web slinging superhero is topping the Worldwide trending list consistently. Spider-Man is perhaps the most in-demand super hero in the world right now and Sony looks to cash in on this opportunity.

Morbius is only the first of many more Sony’s Spider-Man Universe films that are set to release in the near future. However, rather than taking a further deep dive into the life of Peter Parker (or some other versions of Spider-Man like say Miles Morales), Sony has planned to bring out the Anti-heroes of classic Spider-Man comics in their Spiderverse.

Sony’s Venom, which was their first attempt at such a spinoff, has already been a huge success and Morbius looks to follow a similar path.

The film ‘Morbius’ is the origin story of Dr. Michael Morbius who turned himself into a Living Vampire. He was a Nobel Prize-winning biochemist and was trying to find a cure for a rare blood disease that he suffered from. His attempt to find a cure for himself, however, turned into a curse as he became a Vampire instead and gained superhuman powers and a thirst for blood.

He needs blood to survive but the worst part of his curse was that right after drinking the blood of his victim, Dr. Michael Morbius was filled with remorse and guilt. Jared Leto, who is playing Morbius in the movie, has looked promising in the trailer.

Why Vulture should NOT be in ‘Morbius’

However, a confusing part of Morbius’ trailer and initial posters was Sony’s unnecessary bait of showing MCU’s Vulture played by Michael Keaton whom we saw in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ to suggest Morbius’ connection with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Netizens had seen it as a weak hearted attempt to lure audiences to the theaters with the bait of a possible connection between MCU and Sony’s Spiderverse.

This was however self destructive as this is Morbius’ origin story and the character needs some space. The focus in an origin movie must be solely on the Main character. Thus, these continuous hints and MCU connections just defeat the purpose of the movie.

We know that Sony has been trying from a long time to pull off a Sinister Six storyline but bringing in Vulture so soon and that too straight out of an MCU movie would be rather abrupt and uncalled for.

    Sony corrects it’s mistake

Keeping that in mind, Sony has made a big change in Morbius’ latest poster. They have removed Vulture completely from the poster and have focused on Jared Leto as Dr. Michael Morbius – like it should have been to begin with.

  • Who is Madame Web? Comic origin, Powers, Weaknesses, History and Future in MCU

The appearance of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home and the massively positive response that the movie has received worldwide has reportedly led Sony to concentrate more on the future of their Spiderverse. According to reports, Sony is now planning to make more Spider-Man spinoff movies seeing the hype and success of No Way Home and a possible Madame Web movie is on the charts.

In this article, we shall be discussing everything you need to know about the character. We shall also be talking about the updates regarding the potential Sony movie about Madame Web and what we know so far.

    Madame Web: Comic Origin

Cassandra Webb was born in Salem, the Capital city of U.S state Oregon. She was blinded from birth and suffered from a neurological condition called myasthenia gravis. It is a long term neuromuscular disease and causes varying levels of skeletal muscle weakness, sights of which have been seen in her character over the years.

The neurological condition, though crippled her physically, gave her super powers like telepathy, astral projection, precognition, etc. She could also become a medium and gained psychic abilities. Her superpowers are thus natural and she came to be known as Madam Web.

Although the surname ‘Web’ reminds us of a connection to the SpiderVerse, Madam Web surely does not have any such superpowers although she has aided Spider-Man on several occasions. Instead, her surname might be synonymous to her ‘Spider Web like’ life supporting system which was built by her deceased husband.

    History with other Superheroes

The first introduction of Madame Web came in the 1996th episode of Spider-Man the animated movie “Make a Wish” in which she appears to Spider-Man as a mystic medium to another dimension with power over reality having powers similar to the Beyonder. She was voiced by Stan Lee’s wife Joan Boocock Lee in a surprise appearance that usually Stan Lee is famous for.

In that episode, Madame Web tests Spideys from across the multiverse in an attempt to find one that was able to stop Spider Carnage from destroying the Universe.

Her first Comic book appearance, however, came in 1980 when she came to know the true identity of Spider-Man (Peter Parker) using her powers. Spider-man helped her by rescuing her kidnapped student and in return the Blind Clairvoyant helped Spider-Man in stopping several crimes.

She was once kidnapped by the Juggernaut before and rescued by Spider-Man. She was involved in the Gathering of Five (in which Norman Osborn was also present). Madame Web has also worked with Spider-Women and Jessica Jones.

Madame Web was killed by Sasha after a failed attempt to revive Kraven but in her final moments, she transferred her powers and the Madame Web mantle to Julia Carpenter, the second Spider-Woman.

She was brought back to life by Jackal and started to work for him after that. However she died soon after a series of events and that was her last comic mention.

    Madame Web: Powers

Astral Projection: Madame Web is able to project her soul outside of her body and travel in that state. MCU fans will be aware of this power as both Dr. Strange and Scarlet Witch have shown it in previous movies or series.

Telepathy: Madame Web is also able to read minds and impose her thoughts on others.

Mind Altercation: She is also able to affect the minds of people around her at will.

Psychic Surgery: This power has never before been seen in MCU movies. It is the power of performing surgeries with the mere thought of it. She is basically a healer.

Precognition or Clairvoyance: Ability to sense incidents occurring in places far away or in the immediate locality. Madame Web is called the Creepy Clairvoyant for possessing this power.

Foresight: She can see the future as mentioned before

    Madame Web: Weaknesses

Despite possessing great psychic abilities, Madame is physically very weak and she is also blind. She is also paralysed and her limbs do not function well.

    Future in MCU

Rumors that Sony is indeed working on a Madame Web project is indeed strong. Moreover, Fifty Shades actor Dakota Johnson recently shared a spider-web emoji on her Instagram story and practically teased her casting in the main role.

However, fans have been left confused with this casting as Madame Web has been usually portrayed as an elderly woman in Animated shows, Video Games and Marvel Comics. The casting of a fairly young and glamorous Dakota Johnson for the role has thus raised many eyebrows.

Many are of the opinion that it would actually be a young Madame Web movie featuring Julia Carpenter and not Cassandra Webb.

Madame Web will be Sony’s third Spiderverse spinoff after Venom and Morbius.

Why is Madame Web needed in Sony’s Spiderverse

‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ has completely messed up the sacred timeline in not only Tom Holland’s universe but also in SonyVerse. While Marvel aims at correcting Tom Holland’s universe in ‘Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness’ with the help of Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch and America Chevez, SonyVerse lacks such mystic beings.

Madam Web has always been very aligned with the Spider Verse in the Marvel comics and animated tv shows. It is thus being said that Madam Web will be Sony’s solution to make sense of the whole No Way Home situation. Incredibly smart play by Sony if it is true !
